Products That Need More Love

products that need more love

products that need more love

While rummaging through my makeup collection, I found some products which I just haven't used enough. It's not that they're bad products, but they just were never one of my ultimate favourites. So I thought I would put all the products together and maybe this would encourage me to use them more.

Starting with the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner, I'm not really an eyeliner wearing person, I find it doesn't suit my eyes that nicely and looks to heavy. But this pot eyeliner is really lovely and I have been tying to use it more, the brush it came with is not particularly the best, but it works anyway. I will say that make sure you keep the lid tight as it may dry out otherwise. Saying this, I have another eyeliner as well which is the Collection Fast Stroke Eyeliner. This one is a bit easier to use as it is a liquid one, but I find this one more heavy as the colour is a lot more intense.

A brush which I don't really use that much is the Real techniques Stippling Brush. This brush is really amazing for blending in face makeup, but it is a bit more time consuming which is why I don't use it as often.

Onto the lip products, I have chosen the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie, Rimmel Kate Moss 101 and the Collection Lip Butter in Vintage Rose. I don't really have a valid why these aren't really used as much. I guess the shades are a bit different from my usual go-to lip choices.

Another Maybelline product, which is the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. This is such an amazing product and it's a shame that I never use it as much, I actually think it's beginning to dry out on the top which can't be good! But the colour is actually really pretty and I am definitely going to try and use it more.

Last but probably not least as I am sure there are more products which don't get enough love from me. This is the Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink, I remember I used to love this blush so it definitely is a shame that I don't use it as much. The colour is so gorgeous, even though it looks bright it can be toned down a bit. Plus Sleek blushes are so pigmented and definitely worth getting!

Its a shame that I don't use these products as much as I should because they really all are lovely makeup pieces. Are there any products that you think need a bit more love?

Autumn Makeup Edit // Burnt Orange

autumn makeup
autumn makeup
autumn makeup

Although the most typical autumn makeup look is the dark lipsticks, I think burnt orange is a really nice trend for this autumn, I went for a brown toned nude lipstick and also orangey brown on the eyes. Something quite different about the products I used, was I actually used a bronzer as an eyeshadow to get that orange/brown tone. I think it actually works really well and I will definitely wear it as an eye shadow more often.

I primed my face using the Benefit Porefessional and then applied the Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation because recently my skin has been quite bad so I need a bit of extra coverage. I concealed my blemishes with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and then set all my make-up with the Rimmel Stay Matte.

I wanted a pop of colour on my cheeks, but I didn't want to use a pink shade which could clash with the orange toned eyes. So I used an orange blush from the Barry M Starry Eyed Palette, this shade really reminds me of pumpkins and Halloween! I then took the bronzer, which I also used on my eyes, which is the Stila Sun Bonzing Powder, and bronzed/ contoured my face a little bit.

I always do my eyebrows before my eyeshadow, no particular reason its just a habit. I used my new favourite Soap and Glory Brow Archer which I did a review on here . Onto the eyeshadow, I loaded my brush, I used the Real Technique Domed Shadow Brush, with the Stila Bronzer and patted that onto my lids, also blending it through the crease. I think it gives the eyes a really subtle colour without being too orange. I also applied a little bit on my lower lash line. The mascara I used was the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast.

The lipstick I used was a brown/nude shade, I wanted it to compliment the eyes. So I used the Estee Lauder lipstick in Barely Nude. Its definitely more of a dark nude lipstick but I think dark nudes are really suitable for autumn!

Soap and Glory Brow Archery

soap and glory brow archery
soap and glory brow archery
soap and glory brow archery
soap and glory brow archery

Recently I picked up a new eyebrow product from Boots and it is the Soap and Glory Archery. I got it in the shade Brownie Points because that was the only brown shade, which I was a little disappointed about as there was only 2 shades. But my first impression definitely has to be the packaging - it is slim and practical and the box was also really nice with the whole colour co-ordination going on.

On one side of the product is a 'precision shaping pencil' but it is basically a very fine felt tip. On the other side is the 'brow tint' which is a crayon-like product which twists up. I do have to say though, the amount of product in the crayon/wax side is a little bit disappointing as I feel like I might go through this very quickly. When I was buying this I was expecting to prefer the felt tip, but after using it for a while I definitely prefer the crayon side.

The crayon is very easy to apply and is very natural, which is something that I was looking for. Although if you tested it on your hand it does come out quite faint, when you apply it onto your brows, it does actually come out pigmented, but not too strong to make it obvious you have filled your brows in. The wax on the other hand, is a lot more pigmented so I have to be a bit more careful when I use this side. However as it has a very thin nib, this comes in handy when you just want to define very carefully. The colour of the product is a little bit too brown and red-toned for me, I would prefer a more ash-toned brown as that would suit my eyebrows more.

But overall I am really happy with the purchase of this product, and I would recommend it to you if you are looking for a brow product, it is so easy to use and I really like using it do define my brows. I think next time I will just buy the original Brow Archery which, I think, only contains the crayon and not the felt-tip as it is cheaper and I don't really use the felt tip too often.

1) It's time to wear cosy knitwear and scarves and autumn colours.
2) Finally have an excuse to wear my dark berry lipsticks and feel all autumnal.
3) It starts to get dark early so you have to turn the lights on (I don't know why I like that but it makes me feel all cosy and wintery.)
4) It's a lot colder so it means I can wear winter pyjamas and not get too hot.
5) Hot Chocolate mmmm.
6) Trees turn into pretty colours and the leaves fall everywhere.
7) Christmas is nearly here!
8) Shops bring out all the Christmas ranges and autumn clothes.
9) It's finally time to light all the Autumnal scented candles.
10) I can watch all the Halloween and Christmas movies I want!

My Top Autumn Lipsticks

top autumn lipsticks

top autumn lipsticks

top autumn lipsticks
Autumn is a time of berry shades and dark lipsticks. So I bring you my Top 3 Autumn lipsticks consisting of a dark vampy shade, a classic red and a berry shade. How very autumnal!

Rimmel Kate Moss 107
Probably the most typical autumn lipstick out there, but it's because it is the most perfect autumnal shade! It's the perfect mix between a red and a purple creating the most beautiful dark vampy berry shade. However it's not too dark that it is still very wearable. I can see myself wearing this lipstick a lot this season (whose to say I haven't already worn it?) It is a matte finish which I think is best for such a bold lipstick. It also means that it lasts a long time and doesn't slip and slide everywhere. For around the £5 mark, you can't go wrong with this lipstick

Revlon Lip Butter 'Berry Smoothie'
Sometimes you may want to have a more subtle autumn lip option, and for me that is this lipstick. The Revlon Lip Butters are like a very pigmented tinted lip balm, they are moisturising, hydrating but also have a lot of colour in them. This shade is a really pretty pinky berry colour (hence the name) and when applied will leave you lips feeling nice and moisturised but also leaves a nice tint on them!

Rimmel Kate Moss 08
This doesn't look like your typical autumn lipstick shade as it's more of an autumn nude shade. I really love the colour of this lipstick as it is a dark mauve/ pink nude shade and is definitely, for me, a my lips but better shade. I never really hear many people talking about this lipstick but the colour is stunning and so is the formula. It isn't a matte finish like the 107 shade, but it is very creamy and pigmented and smells really nice as well!

L'Oreal Colour Riche 461 'Scarlett Creme'
I think red is probably the best autumn and winter colour. So why not wear it as a lipstick? I'd say this is more for Christmas time as red is very festive. But it's September now so that means Christmas is very near (as you can tell I'm very excited for Christmas!) the quality of L'Oreal Lipsricks are incredible and they are about £7 which is so good for the lipstick! The lipstick is very pigmented and glides on smoothly. I really recommend you try out some of the L'Oreal Lipsticks!

The Post About Primers

I never used to be into Primers as I didn't really own many. I used to stick to my trusted Porefessional from Benefit and I didn't really use anything else. But quite recently I have a lot more in my collection so I thought I would talk through them all as they all have different purposes and uses. Just warning I do go into a bit of detail!

Benefit Porefessional // £24.50
This is the most expensive out of all the primers in this post and the first primer I actually owned. I own a mini size and a full size of this, and it lasts for so long because you really do not need a lot of product when you use this. I use a tiny pea-sized amount and apply it around my nose and cheek area, and also a bit on my forehead. I like this because it really smooths out the skin and blurs out pores but not drastically, but it has a subtle difference. I'd say this is more suitable for oily skin types and if you have pores, otherwise it doesn't really do much to your skin if you don't have any pores! It does also make your skin have a matte finish so I wouldn't recommend it if you have dry skin. But I do really like this primer and it does smoothen and blur out pores.

Maybelline Baby Skin Warm Apricot // £7.99
One from the drugstore this time, this primer is a lot more different to the Porefessional. The consistency is a lot more liquid and I believe it is water-based, well that's what it says on the Boots website anyway! I really like these primers as they smooth out the skin, hydrate it and provide a nice base for my make-up. I really have noticed my make-up lasting a lot longer with this primer, especially foundation if I am wearing foundation that day. The smell is also quite nice, I think they tried to make it smell like apricots which is nice. I chose the warm apricot shade becuase my skin is a lot more warm toned than pink toned.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser // £8.50
At first I expected this primer to have a velvety consistency like the Porefessional which is silicone based. However the consistency of this primer is a lot different, I believe it is water based like the Maybelline one as it is more runny and liquidy. It has quite a strong smell of Tea Tree which for me I don't mind because I quite like the smell, but if you don't like the smell that could be a problem. My first impression when I used this was how nice it is to blend into the skin, it is very refreshing. I;m not sure if it does too much difference to my pores but like the Benefit primer I'd say it is a subtle difference! And this primer does make my makeup last longer which is always good. The finish is quite matte so I'd recommend it for oily to normal skin types.

Benefit That Gal Primer // £24.50
I don't own the full size of this just a mini which came in a set. But this primer is a lot different to the ones I usually use as it hasn't got a matte finish and is more of a brightening and glowy primer. I love using this when I want my skin to have a dewy finish and to be glowing. It is really natural and really brightening which I love. If you are looking for a primer with these characteristics then I recommend you check this one out!

The Body Shop Instablur Primer // £14
I've talked about this quite a lot on my blog recently but that's because it's so amazing! I'd say it is very similar to the Porefessional in the finish and consistency of it. It is very thick and silicone based and has a matte finish. So it is more suitable for oily skin types. Whenever I use this it really does make my skin stay matte for longer and keeps my makeup from sliding or melting away. This is probably my favourite primer out of all the ones I own and I would definitely repurchase it!

Everyday Summer Drugstore Makeup

This summer I have been going for quite a light base, a bronze eye and a nude lip for my every day makeup. I thought I should go through my summer makeup routine as I did my spring makeup a few months ago and I want to make it a seasonal thing. So even though summer may be over in 1 week (*cries*) this is what I have been wearing most makeup wearing days!

Base
I'll usually prime my skin to make sure my makeup lasts all day, one of my favourite primers is the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, however I also love using the Body Shop Instablur Primer. I don't want to wear a thick and heavy layer of foundation, so  BB Cream has been the one for me recently. I love the Body Shop All In One BB Cream and I find it works best when I use a flat foundation bruas it allows me to get lots of coverage and an even layer. Under my eyes I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, and I'll go ahead and set this all with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

Cheeks
I always use the Sleek Face Form Palette it's my absolute favourite. It comes with a blush, contour and a highlight all in one palette which is so handy. I really like the blush shade, it's almost rose gold as it is pink with golden undertones. So pretty!

Eyes
My every day eyebrow product is the Rimmel Brow Pencil and I just simply fill in my eyebrows but very naturally. Recently I have been loving wearing bronze and golden shades on my eyes, so as an eyeshadow base I use the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. This is a cream eyeshadow but also works as an eyeshadow base! For a bit more colour, I tend to go in with some eyeshadow, I have been using this MUA Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette quite a lot as it has a lot of natural bronze shades, it is also very cheap and affordable! Finally for mascara, I used my new favourite which is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I cannot recommend this mascara enough, it's amazing!

Lips
I tend to go for a nude shade on my lips, as this makeup is a drugstore makeup look, I decided to go with the Revlon Lacquer Balm in Demure. This is such an old favourite of mine but I still love it! It gives a really natural pinky nude shade!

And that is everything! I hope you liked this post and thank you for reading!

Summer Lip Choices

There haven't been too many summer related posts on my blog this year, so I thought about doing one and I decided to do it on my Summer Lip Options. For me, summer makeup is all about the pink and coral lips and wearing really peachy toned lipsticks. So I have picked out a few of my favourite lipsticks for this summer!

Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Crayon // Peach on The Beach
This is a summer must have! I absolutely adored using this lip crayon last summer and I have also been loving it this year too! It's a peachy pink shade which is really pretty and the name is also adorable! The actual lip crayon is nice and hydrating to apply and very pigmented which is always good! But it has a nice sheen to it which is nice as I'm not a fan of matte lips in summer.

Revlon Colourburst  Lip Butter // Sweet Tart // Sorbet
In this post I've included two Revlon Lip Butters because they are my absolute favourite! The colours are so pretty and because they are a mix between a lip balm and a lip stick, it means they are really moisturising when applied. They are slightly sheer which means you can build the colour up depending on your preference. The shade Sorbet is a much darker and bolder pink so I tend to wear this more sheer. I also like the shade Sweet Tart which is a really pretty pink and easy to wear.

MAC Lipstick // Chatterbox
Chatterbox is the perfect pink shade! You can build it up for a very bold pink look, or you can wear it more muted (how I prefer to wear it) for a more subtle pink lip option! This lipstick is really creamy to apply and I think it is an Amplified finish which is one of my favourites finishes from MAC.

MUA Lipstick // Nectar Shade 16
If you're looking for a bargain lipstick, this is the way to go as MUA lipsticks are only £1! They are also very pigmented which is surprising for such a cheap lipstick, the colour I have is a peach shade and is really suitable for summer. The formula of the lipstick is also very creamy but can be a little but drying after a while so make sure your lips are hydrated before you apply it!

Maybelline Colour Sensational Popstick // Chery Pop
I've recently started using this lipstick a lot more as I used to quite dislike it a while ago as it's a bit deceiving. The lipstick looks red in the bullet but is orange when swatched (?) It is a very sheer lipstick, almost like a tinted lip balm but I quite like that as it means I can add a bit of colour to my lips to give it a slightly red (and also orange) tint to my lips. Plus it smells like cherries which is always a bonus!

So there are all my lip options for this summer, I hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!

Current Favourites

current favourites

I didn't want this post to be an August favourites because some of these I have only recently started liking, but some of these have been my favourites since the beginning of July. But I haven't done a monthly favourites in a while so I thought I would merge them altogether and do a Current Favourites!

Beauty

I'm going to start off with a new mascara I bought recently which is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I picked up the waterproof version because funnily enough out of all my mascaras none of them are actually waterproof. I had quite high expectations for this mascara because of all the great reviews that it has had, and I was not disappointed! This mascara is incredible, in a matter of seconds my lashes are fully curled and super long and look amazing, and that is with only one coat! I think the brush is really good and so is the formula! However bit of a pain to remove but I think that's just what most waterproof mascaras are like.

My next beauty favourite is The Body Shop Instablur Primer. Again, like the mascara, I had quite high expectations due to the high reviews. This primer is really good if you have oily skin as it really matti firs the skin and keeps your makeup on and prevents it from sliding off. So as it has been summer (well currently it is pouring with rain and the sun is nowhere to be seen,) this primer has dealt with the heat very nicely I think. It has kept my face matte and made my makeup last a long time, which is what I hoped it would do so it has ticked all the boxes for me!

The next favourite is a skincare product, it's The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. This stuff is incredible! You are supposed to apply it to any blemishes you have and it will help to make them disappear. And it definitely does. When my skin broke out for a bit, I just applied a tiny amount, you really don't need a lot, of the oil before I went to bed and the next morning the spot had reduced in size and redness. I would really recommend this if you struggle with finding a product that deals with blemishes as it really does the job!

Music

I've been listening to so much music lately, especially when I was on my school trip in China, so I have a fee favourites! (Also ignore the fact that in the picture I used my iPod which is about 5 years old so it looks very different to the music on apple nowadays!)

Years & Years - Communion (specifically these songs - Eyes Shut, Ties, Shine, Without, Ready For You, Border)

Taylor Swift - Speak Now (old but it's one of my favourites! Specifically these songs - Enchanted, Long Live, Sparks Fly, Dear John, Better Than Revenge, pretty much every song actually.)

Selena Gomez - Good For You
The Weeknd - Can't Feel My Face, The Hills
Disclosure ft Sam Smith - Omen

Fashion

When it was very sunny and when I went to China, sunglasses were such a necessity! The ones I have been wearing are actually from Primark but they look really cool especially with the gold and the matte black frame.

Collective Beauty Haul

collective beauty haul

collective beauty haul

I feel like this haul is very long overdue as some of these products were new in June and since it's August now they're not very new anymore. But I have bought some new things recently so I thought I might as well merge them all into one collective haul post!

It was my birthday in June, I should've actually just put these products into a Birthday Haul however it's a bit late for that now. Anyway, my friend very kindly got me some products from The Body Shop. I received the Perfect Duo Set which contains the Instablur Primer and the All in One BB Cream. I have done a full review on them here if you would like to read! She also very kindly got me one of the Tea Tree Range Sets which includes the Tea Tree Primer and the Tea Tree Oil which is really good! To go along with these she got me a brush from The Body Shop which is retractable so it's even more cool!

When I went to China a few weeks ago, I couldn't resist not picking anything up from the Duty Free and taking advantage of the cheaper prices on MAC lipsticks (£12.50). So I did end up buying one! I picked up the shade Blankety which is a nude shade. I originally wanted either Modesty or Brave, however I couldn't find the shade Modesty (*sad face*) and Brave was a lot darker as I was looking for a nude lipstick. So after many swatches on my hand and me being indecisive as usual, I decided to get the shade Blankety which is very nice however it's not one you can easily layer on as it does look a bit too pale and too much nude lipstick!

Recently I bought myself a new mascara as some of my mascaras have been going dry and running out. So I picked up the Lash Sensational Mascara by Maybelline as I have heard so many good reviews  about it, it has been compared to Roller Lash by Benefit. It is honestly such a great mascara and it does amazing things to my eye lashes. I will definitely be doing a review on this in the future. Currently in Boots this mascara is £2 so it is £5.99 (may or may not be the reason I bought it!)

I also recently bought a Stila Bronzer which was in TK MAXX unused and still in the packaging for £3.99 and I really liked the look of it so I thought 'hmm why not!' It is in the shade '01' which I presume is the lightest shade so that suits me just fine. In fact the colour is very nice and isn't too orange or too strong. It is also a matte Bronzer which I really like as I think that is a bit more natural!

So that is all the new makeup that I have got recently, I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Little Update - Travelling in China and Blogging Break!

travelling in China
travelling in China

travelling in China

Hello again, it's been a while since I have just sat down and written a blog post. I feel like I should give a reason to my lack of posts these past couple of months, but to be honest there isn't one reason. I haven't been feeling like blogging, I have just been uninspired by my blog and everytime I try to get a post together I have just been unhappy with it. And blogging, for me, is something I do because it makes me happy, so I decided to just take a break from my little space on the internet until I feel happy to be back blogging. I feel like that time is now so I should be back and posting like usual! But let me just tell you about what I have been up to this summer!

In the middle of July I went on a school trip to China for 16 days which was very exciting and such an unforgettable trip (the pictures in this post are some of the photos I took on my trip.) I made so many incredible memories and it was one of the best 2 weeks of my life. We visited. any places in Beijing such as the Great Wall, the Summer Palace and the Forbidden City. We also stayed in Chanzhou in JiangSu Province in a school and had many cultural lessons and I also made many new friends from other school which was very nice! It was the best school trip I have been on and I had such a great time, I still miss it (and it's been about 3 weeks since I got back so I should probably get over it by now haha!)

That is basically the main thing that has happened this summer for me, I think that is also why I haven't been posting that much as I have been away for quite a while. But enough of excuses - I just thought I should let you know that I took a bit of a needed blogging break and I am (hopefully) back and posting regularly!

Thanks for reading! I just want to say thank you to everyone who reads my posts, I don't think I've said it enough but I truly appreciate it a lot! Have a lovely day!

Summer Essentials

summer essentials

summer essentials

summer essentials

It definitely feels like summer now that it is actually hot and sunny instead of being cloudy all the time. For this post I decided to put together some of my favourite things which I think are essentials for summer. Also I am very sorry for the lack of posts recently, but I have been having a break from blogging and just haven't been feeling it recently, but I am back now!

First thing of course are some sunglasses! Sunglasses are a definite must-have in summer, not only do they protect your eyes but they also just add to an outfit! Mine are from Primark, so they are totally affordable. They are round with gold detailing on it which I love. Next is a Body Spray, I have chosen one from Victoria Secret in the scent Pure Daydream. It is such a fruity scent which is really appropriate for summer and will make you smell great! I have also included a nail varnish which is the Barry M Gelly nail varnish in Greenberry. The bright turquoise will look so lovely on nails in summer, especially with a tan and I am definitely going to be wearing this on my nails this year!

On to all the makeup essentials now. Firstly I have obviously included a highlighter as isn't glowy skin always a summer trend? I'm pretty sure every year glowing skin is a must have for summer! So I have chosen the Benefit Sun Beam as this is more of a bronzey highlighter compared to High Beam. I have also included a powder in my essentials as your skin might get a bit oily in the summer so a matte powder is always handy! The last two things are both pink lipsticks because I really like wearing more brighter colours on my lips in summer. So the ones I have chosen are the Bourjois Colour Boos in Peach on the Beach and the Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart.

So those are all my summer essentials for this year. I hope you enjoyed this post and sorry for not posting much recently. Thanks for reading!

The Perfect Duo from The Body Shop

For a while I have been lusting over two products from The Body Shop, then when I saw that they sold them together in a little set I was very close to buying it but in the end I didn't get it. Then recently for my birthday, my best friend kindly gave it to me as a present which I was so happy to receive as she knew that I had been wanting it. So after a few weeks away from blogging, now I am back and I am going to be reviewing The Body Shop Flawless Finish Collection.

This duo includes the All In One Instablur primer and the All In One BB Cream. These two products have been on my wish list for such a long time as I'd heard many good reviews about them. If you buy both of them separately it is £26, but in the set it is £20 which I think is quite a good deal! The packaging of both the products is very easy to use as it is a tube that you simply squeeze.

I'll start with the BB Cream, it reminds me slightly of the L'oreal BB Creams as it squeezes out as a white consistency which contains pigment particles. So once you rub and blend it in the pigment particles burst and release the skin tone colour. It is very easy to blend and feels very lightweight on my skin. The coverage is fairly low which is what I would expect in a BB Cream, but it does give the effect of blurring out my pores and blemishes. It also gives a really lovely dewy effect which is going to be so nice in summer (when the sun eventually comes out - typical English weather!) I will definitely be using this product when I want a really natural, fresh looking skin day! I am very pleased with this product and will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out!

I've heard lots of good things about the Instablur primer, and it's fair to say that I have not been disappointed by it! It is quite a thick primer, so of you're not into that then I wouldn't recommend it. And it is also not very suitable for people with dry skin, as it has a matte finish. This means that it helps to keep my skin matte during the day and not oily, which is just what I have been looking for! The primer also acts like a great base for applying makeup onto as the BB cream blends really well on top of the primer. Both the products work really well together, and I would recommend you buy the set if you like the sound of these two products. I am so happy that I received this for my birthday as it is works so well and I am very impressed with the formula of the products! Thank you for reading!

Underrated Lip Products

I'm sure we all have some of those lipsticks which you bought because you heard people raving about them, I know I am guilty of doing that! But there are some lip products in my collection which I haven't heard many people talk about. These are what I am talking about in today's post, it's all about the underrated lip products!

The first products is the Collection Work The Colour Lip Butter in the shade 3 'Vintage Rose'. I have heard lots of bloggers talk about lip crayons from other brands such as Clinique and Revlon, but I think the Collection ones weren't talked about that much because there are so many other lip crayons out there! I quite like the shade that I have because I don't really have one like it, it's almost a mix between a pink and a brown. I would describe it as a neutral pink with brown undertones. So this shade is very difficult to explain but I also really like how creamy and buttery the formula is. But because of this creaminess, it doesn't last that long. For £2.99 I think these are actually really good, however the shade range is quite limited and I do feel like there are lots of lip crayons out there.

The next lip stick I have chosen is from L'Oreal. I know that the L'oreal Colour Riche Exclusive Nudes and Pure Reds Collections (the ones with black and gold packaging) were quite talked about. But I haven't heard much about their original Colour Riche Lipsticks, my one is in the shade 256 'Blush Fever.' The colour is a really natural pink and it has a slight shine and shimmer to it. The formula is really good, it feels really good quality, which is why I really like it. Even the packaging looks expensive. I really want to pick up some more shades from L'Oreal as their lipsticks are really nice!

This lipstick is probably one of my favourites, and when it runs out I will definitely repurchase it! Its the Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick 08. It is the perfect nude and suits my lips and skin tone so well. It is a slight mauve shade and is one of those Kylie Jenner-ish shades. I have talked about this lipstick a lot on my blog, but it's because it is such a pretty liptsick!

I don't wear lip glosses that much, but if I am going to then I like to wear the Barry M Lipgloss 'Toffee' as it is a relly nice natural brown shade. I included this in my Top 5 Nude Lipsticks post from a while back (read it here!) and it just is a really nude! It's so quick and easy to apply and is really not sticky and also smells like Toffee which is always a bonus.

So there we have it, all the underrated lip products in my lip collection! I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Drugstore Base Products

There are so many amazing base products out there in the beauty world, but today's post is all about Drugstore Bases. I only own 3 base products, and those are the 3 I'm going to be talking about today! Foundation isn't something I wear everyday so I don't feel the need to buy too many of them, but recently I've been getting into wearing it a bit more often. Anyway enough of me waffling, I'll get onto the first product!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum // £10.99
This is the latest edition to my makeup collection, I bought it in my Drugstore Haul which was about a month ago. It is honestly such a lovely foundation. I am not too keen on thick and heavy foundations, so this is really perfect for me. It feels lightweight on the skin, yet provides a light layer of coverage, but the coverage is definitely buildable. The feeling of it on my skin is lovely because it is almost velvety and very soft, which sounds weird but I think that is the only way I can explain it.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream // £6.99
Unlike the other products in this post, this one is a BB Cream. It is quite a light weight product, which is what I would've expected as it is a BB cream; and the coverage is very light as well. So that means it is very nice and natural. Unfortunately it only comes in two shades light and medium, so it's difficult to find one that suits your skin tone. I have the light shade, but that is a bit too pink-toned for me as my skin is warm-toned. The product blends into my skin nicely, but it doesn't last very long so I would recommend using a primer before using this product. I would recommend this BB Cream if you are looking for something light and natural.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation // £6.99
There seems to be a recurring theme throughout this post of lightweight products; probably because the base products I like are the ones that are light weight and natural looking. The Rimmel foundation I'd say is light to medium coverage. It feels a bit more thick on the skin, but once blended in properly it feels light and doesn't really feel like I am wearing much foundation. The shade matches me very well, I am the shade 100 Ivory. This was actually my first foundation, and I really think this foundation is suitable for people who are looking to start wearing foundation.

There are probably lots and lots of other amazing base products out there, but these are the 3 that I own and I hope my thoughts on them were helpful to you. Thank you for reading!

Travel Makeup Bag

You may (or maybe you aren't) wondering where I have been for past week. But I promise I will be back to my usual posting schedule, it's because last week I was on a school trip in Wales for a week. But now I am back home I am back with a new post, which is a look into my Travel Makeup Bag.

I probably didn't need to bring so much makeup, but I mainly just bought the necessities for my everyday makeup routine (concealer, powder, eyebrows and mascara.) So let's start with brushes, I bought with me the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and Multi-Tasking Brush. I used the Buffing Brush to blend in my concealer and the concealer I bought was the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer as it is such an everyday under-the-eye concealer. For powder, I chose the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. This powder is a new use of mine and I can definitely say it is amazing. I also bought with me the Benefit Porefessional primer because it is amazing and helps to cover up my pores.

Now onto the eye products. I did actually bring 2 mascaras purely because I had a mini mascara and I just really wanted to bring it; but I also wanted to bring my favourite mascara which is the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes. I have talked about this mascara sooo much here on my blog so I shan't go on any more. But all I have to say is it is incredible. Also in my makeup bag is a mini of the Benefit Bad Gal Mascara, this mascara isn't really that amazing and a bit of a let down especially from Benefit. But its not too bad, but there are better mascaras out there. Sometimes I often wear brown eye-liner lightly on my lower lashes to define them a bit, so the Rimmel Eye Pencil in Sable is also in my travel bag. But how can I forget eyebrows? My only eyebrow product, but it is amazing, is the Rimmel Brow Pencil.

Lastly for lips, I just have a basic yet trustworthy Vaseline, how could I live without my Vaseline? And I also bought with me one of the Baby Lips in Pink Lolita.

So I believe that is everything that I bought along with me when I went travelling. I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you for reading!

Things I've Repurchased

Things I've Repurchased

When it comes to makeup, I am always willing to try out some new products every now and then. But sometimes I find a product that just works for me and ticks all the boxes. This post is about those products, and because they worked so well for me I end up repurchasing them. I will probably do more posts on Things I've Repurchased so this could become a series-type thing!

Lets start with the Maybelline One by One Mascara. I have mentioned this in a lot of my posts recently, but that is because I am just so in love with this mascara. I have tried many Maybelline mascaras, but out of all of them this is my favourite. It is so lengthening and defines each of my lashes. The only thing I would say is it can get a bit clumpy if you put on too many coats, but other than that this mascara is incredible.

The next product is one that I'm sure most beauty lovers have repurchased before. Of coursre, it is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This concealer is amazing, the one I am using at the moment is actually my third tube but that one is in the bin. As you can see the writing does eventually rub off which is a bit annoying, but the actual concealer is great! It has a really high coverage so it is great for concealing blemishes. It is a bit cakey, so if you have dry skin this may not be for you. But I like to use it for covering blemishes.

Powder is something that I go through so quickly. As you can see both of my powders are really close to finishing. It is the Natural Collection Pressed Powder. I used to use this a lot when I was starting out it makeup, and I've gone through so many of them, probably about 6? I think it's becuase they are so cheap that I always end up buying it, and also because they are really good for the price! But after these two powders run out, I will be using the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder as that is what I bought to use when these finish. But I'm sure that if I don't like the Rimmel powder I will definitely go back to using the Natural Collection ones.

So that is all of my products that I have repurchased recently. Next time I repurchase some products I will do another post on them if you would like to see that. Thanks for reading!

The "My Lips But Better" Shades

I have often described some of my lip products to be a 'my lips but better shade'. So I thought I would do a post on them! These are the lipsticks that are really similar to my natural lip shade, but make them slightly better. Anyway let me get on with the lipsticks, the ones I think are really 'me' shades are the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nude-ist' and Rimmel Kate Moss in '08'.

Starting with the Bourjois Liquid Lipstick, this is a new product for me as I picked it up recently. The product has a doe foot applicator, so it is quite similar to a lip gloss. However the consistency is nothing like a lip gloss, in fact its like a liquid lipstick. The pigmentation is insane, and so is the lasting power! And I was a bit worried that it might be drying, as it is a matte finish, however it is creamy and not drying whatsoever. It really does have a velvety feeling on the lips, which is lovely and why I love this product so much! I would describe the shade as a deep rose colour, slightly pink and brown as well.

I think the Bourjois lipstick is a bit more bold, but the Rimmel one is definitely more of a neutral option. It is the shade 08 and is more of a pink mauve and isn't as dark as the previous product. And probably less pigmented, however, it is still a lovely shade and I would 100% say this is my go to lipstick as it suits my lip colour so well. This doesn't have a matte finish, it is more creamy and smooth. This is such an amazing lipstick and is only about £5 so I really recommend it!

These two lipsticks are definitely some of my favourites. The colours are so pretty and I love wearing them. If you haven't got them, then I really recommend you check them out! Thank you for reading!

April Favourites

Today is time for another Monthly Favourites post. I have a few new beauty favourites this month, as I bought some new things recently.

Beauty

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may know that the Maybelline One By One Mascara has been one of my favourites for a while. This is actually my second bottle because I love it so much I repurchased it. I featured it in my Favourite Four Mascara post if you want to read more on it.

A new discovery of mine this month has been the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nud-ist'. I have a post all about it coming up, so more detail about that will be in that post. But I love the colour and the lasting-power is amazing, these lip products are incredible.  I will definitely be picking up more shades.

I also rediscovered a No7 eyeshadow (doesn't have a shade name on it) that I haven't used that much before. It is a brown/ grey/ taupe shade with a slight shimmer. I have found this to be such a natural all over the lid shade.

I have had a few break-outs this month and the one product I have found to really help with covering them up has been the Benefit Stay Don't Stray. It's a concealer and eyeshadow primer, I've been using it underneath my concealer as it makes it last much longer. I really like this and I always use it to cover anything that I want to stay covered the whole day!

Another new favourite for this month, also from Bourjois, is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. This is a foundation but it's more light and natural which is why I love it so much. I really like wearing this as it has such a perfect consistency. I really recommend this foundation if you are looking for a natural base.

My brush favourite for this month is the Real Techniques Setting Brush. I have been using it for blending my under eye concealer and setting it with powder. It's not really a brush that I hear much about, but it is still a real necessity in my brush collection.

The last beauty favourite for April has been The Body Shop Passionfruit Body Butter. If you have tried these body butters then you will know how moisturising, buttery and amazing they are! Also the Passionfuit scent is my favourite, it's so fruity and it smells lovely.

Favourite Four Mascaras

Normally, I would do a 'Top 5 ...' post, however I couldn't find 5 mascaras that really were my favourites - only 4! So it's going to be a 'Favourite 4' post instead. Anyway, like all my other 'Top 5 (or 4)' posts, these are not in any order!

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes // full review Here
This has been featured on my blog many times, purely because I think it is such an amazing mascara. Firstly, let me just comment on how gorgeous the packaging is, the gold and purple really compliments each other! It has a plastic applicator, which is actually quite small and thin. I think this is why the mascara is not clumpy whatsoever. It lengthens my lashes so much, this is such a good mascara especially if you are looking for a good drugstore mascara.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
This is my all-time favourite mascara, unfortunately it is a bit more expensive than the others in this post. But, with most Benefit products I think, you do get what you pay for as this mascara is incredible. It instantly defines my lashes and makes them voluminous. Like the L'Oreal mascara, it is a plastic applicator. This makes sure it really grips to my lashes and lengthens them. If you add layers and layers it could become a bit clumpy, but for me one coat is just fine! It lasts for such a long time as well, doedn't smudge which other mascaras I have used tend to do.

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
I went through a phase a few months back, when I really loved this mascara and used it so much. The mascara is really in the name, it works so quickly and instantly volumises my eyelashes. This is a bristle/fibre applicator, and he applicator is quite large so I tend to get mascara on my eyelids easily. But the actual product is really amazing. Great for when you are in a rush and you need something that doesn't require a lot of time.

Maybelline One By One Mascara
I have been through a fair few of Maybelline mascaras, and this has to be my favourite out of the ones I have tried. It is actually my second tube, that is how much I love it! It is the most lenghtening and defining mascara I have ever tried. Although it is quite easily for my lashes to become clumpy when I use this, so I do have to be a bit careful. But this is such an incredible mascara, my lashes become so long when I use this!

So those are all my favourite mascaras, hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!

Spring Blushes

Spring-Blushes-Benefit-Sleek-Topshop

Last season, I did a post on my Winter Blushes, so it's only fair that I do a post for Spring. I only just realised that some one of the blushes in that post is in this post as well - oops! There are also some cream blushes in this post as they are perfect for Spring!

Benefit Fine One One Blush Trio // full review Here
I absolutely love this blush. It is amazing and such a unique product! It is in a stick form and has three shades, an orange, coral pink and a shimmer highlight. As it is Benefit, it is slightly more expensive than the other products, but I think this is one of those products where you really do get what you are paying for because the products is so impressive! You simply swipe this across your cheeks and blend, it blends easily and gives your cheeks a natural flush of colour. Talking about 'flush' that leads on to the next product!

Topshop Cream Blush in 'Flush' // full review Here
I think this has to be my favourite out of all of the blushes in this post, purely because this blush is such a stunning shade and the formula is incredible. You can read the post I have done on it before for more detail, but it is a cream to powder finish so it lasts quite a long time. It blends and applies like a dream and I can't even explain how beautiful the colour is. If you haven't tried any of the Topshop Cream Blushes then what are you waiting for?!

Sleek Blush in 'Pixie Pink'
Unlike the other blushes in this post, this Sleek blush is a powder blush. It may look very vibrant and bold, but it does come out very natural once on the cheeks. It's such a pretty pink which is perfect for Spring because to me, Spring is all about pink. When people ask me what drugstore blushes I would recommend, I always say Sleek because they have a range of shades which are all stunning.
