Q&A

(photo credit - we heart it but edited myself.)

I just realised it's been a year since I last did a Q&A on my blog, wow time flies eh?! So I asked on Instagram for some questions and I got quite a few so I might not be able to answer all of them, sorry! But I'm thinking of doing a blogging advice post soon as I get a lot of questions on blogging etc. Let me know if your like to see that! Okay let's get on to the questions!

1) What's your favourite lush product? @_pastel_pal
I literally love so many things from lush but probably the Comforter Bubble Bar because it smells lovely and you can use it so many times.

2) Favourite Instagram accounts? @ideklauren
I have so many but probably @gypsx and @amyrose_x  I've definitely missed out loads but I love those peoples accounts!

3) Favourite lipstick ever? @floraalroses
This is such a hard question, how can I pick just one? But I would have to say MAC Patisserie or Speak Louder, such gorgeous colours!

4) What is your favourite mascar? @pastel_girl_kiss
Definitely Benefit's They're Real, but if it's a drugstore mascara then... Soap and Glorys Thick and Fast mascara.

5) What got you into beauty/makeup? @ellen_cornell
Well, ever since I was young, I've always loved playing with my mums makeup, but I think it was when I started watching YouTube videos, the first youtuber I watched was Bethany Mota. It might also have been when i used to have a girly Instagram account (it got hacked so I don't actually use it anymore) years ago I used to follow lots of makeup accounts and that's probably what got me into it. Honestly, I don't really know what got me into makeup, it's quite a tough question!

6) Favourire YouTuber? @pastel.le
I love watching Hello October's videos, she's just gorgeous and her videos are great! I also really like ViviannaDoesMakeup because she's basically tried every single makeup product ever and has so much to say about every product! Another favourites of mine are Floral princess and Floralbeautiee.

7) Skirt or jeans? @lxcy.bxauty
Skirts for sure, I just find jeans don't really flatter me sometimes and skirts do. But that doesn't mean I don't wear jeans, I do! But skirts more!

8) What inspired you to become a blogger? @pretty_perfectxoxo (www.prettyperfectxoxo.blogspot.com)
Back when I first started, I watched a lot of YouTube videos and I just wanted to make a YouTube account so badly! But I was quite nervous to so instead I decided to start a blog! I'd read a lot of beauty blogs and I kind of just signed up to blogging not really knowing much about it. But I'm so glad I did start it because it's so much fun!

9) What are your favourite blogs? @pretty_perfectxoxo

10) Favourite Book? @pastelwonderlandxo (www.eleanxrmarie.blogspot.com)
I've never actually thought about my favourite book... Hmm I really don't know, probably like a Michael Morpurgo book, I used to read loads of them when I was little. Or a Sophie Kinsella book, I like her shes a good author!

11) Would you prefer to wear dark or light lipstick? @petalsask
Light for definite, dark lipsticks are high maintenance! There's always a risk it would smudge and you could get lipstick on your teeth!
12) Where would be your dream holiday destination? @thefloralgrande
New York City at winter time or tropical island I'm not sure where!

13) What's on your makeup wishlist? @lauraabaileey (www.beautyybylauraa.blogspot.com)
One of the Urban Decay Naked Basics palettes, they're gorgeous!

14) Favourite band/singer? @pastelwonderlandxo (www.eleanxrmarie.blogspot.com)
I have quite a few favourites such as, Haim, Lana Del Rey and Taylor Swift.

15) What is your holy grail Skincare product? @franrockey (www.franciscarockey.blogspot.co.uk)
Probably my face cream because without it my skin gets very dry, but I also really like the Garnier Miscellar Cleansing water.

Thank you for everyone who asked me questions! Sorry I couldn't include all of them, a few of them were repeated questions anyway. I hope I answered any questions you had! Thanks for reading, bye!

Shades of Red

When it comes to red lips, you can choose from many different shades of red. I picked out some of my red lipsticks with different undertones. I chose the orange undertoned red, the classic red and the dark and vampy red.

The Orange Red - Revlon Clourburst Lipstick in Coral 080
I think orangey red lipsticks are stunning in summer, I also think that they compliment brunette hair nicely. But obviously it looks lovely on other hair shades as well! I also love the formula of this lipstick, it's creamy and moisturising and doesn't dry out my lips.

The Classic Red - L'oreal Colour Riche lipstick in Scarlett Creme 461
I got this lipstick in a loreal set for Christmas, and it's my first red lipstick. The formula is amazing and, like the Revlon one, is creamy and moisturising. I'd say it has a satin finish as it isn't matte but isn't glossy either. This really compliments my skin tone as well I think, which is always what you want in a lipstick I'd say. I just wish I had blonde hair and a fringe then I could have the perfect Taylor swift red lip look, haha but fringes really dont suit me so that's a no! I also love the packaging of L'oreal lipsticks as they look so classy with the gold casing!

The Dark and Vampy Red - Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick 107
I can't believe how late I am on the bandwagon for this lipstick, I'm sure you've heard all about this lipstick. It's such a gorgeous vampy lip shade, perfect for autumn and winter (although autumn has kind of passes - told you I was late on this lipstick!) This lipstick is from Kate Moss's Matte lipstick range, I expected this to be a bit drying but it totally isn't! It applies smoothly and lasts a very long time, this is an amazing lipstick range ( I featured this in my recent post as well!)

As you can see, there are many different shades of red lipsticks to wear. In fact, there are probably more but I don't have any other red lipsticks. I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Best of Rimmel

Rimmel is one of those brands that are affordable and have some amazing products in their range. For this post, I have picked out my favourites from Rimmel, it was hard to choose as they have some really good stuff!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory -£6.99 Full Review Here
Although this is the only foundation I've tried so I have nothing to compare it to, I do think that it is an amazing foundation especially for the price. The product states it has a : "Natural, flawless coverage with a fresh finish" and that it "lasts all day". I do agree that it leaves a natural and fresh finish, but it is quite medium coverage so I wouldn't say it has flawless coverage. But it is definitely buildable! It is so natural and is hardly noticeable! I really like this foundation and really recommend it as it is such a bargain!

Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer in 03 Classic Beige - £5.49
This concealer is a new product in my collection. It is a very nice consistency, creamy and blends easily. The concealer is very brightening as it has very small shimmer particles in it, but don't worry they're not that noticeable! I did notice that it isn't as high coverage as the lasting perfection concealer by Collection is, but it is more of a brightening concealer for under the eyes rather than coverage spots and blemishes.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks 101, 08, 107- £5.49 Full Review Here
I have the shades 10, 08 and 107. The red ones are the matte one and the black one is the original formula I think. The matte lipsticks aren't drying at all, they have apply really nicely and last for a very long time! The shade 107 is such an autumnal shade and looks gorgeous. 101 is a really pretty pale pink nude alternative. But my favourite out of all of them has to be 08, a stunning dark mauve nude colour. This is such a Kylie Jenner lip shade but a much cheaper alternative, also it is so creamy when you apply it and smells delicious too! These lipsticks are a must-have!

Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Black Brown -£2.99
This is the only eyebrow pencil I have, but it is still amazing for only £3! It also comes with a brush so its great for travelling as well. I have the shade Black Brown which is the darkest, but it is perfect for my eyebrows. It is really easy to use so it would be great for beginners.

Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil in Sable Brown - £2.99
This has become a must-have in my everyday makeup routine, I lightly use this on my lower lash line. It is much softer than black which is what I really like. Also it is so creamy and lasts such a long time!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Nude - £3.99
Like the other eyeliner, this is so creamy and lasts a very long time! I use this in my waterline to brighten my eyes. It looks really natural and can make such a difference, I really like rimmel eyeliners they are such a bargain!

So that's all of my favourite products from Rimmel! I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you for reading!

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

This post is in collaboration with That Girl in Wonderland (www.thatgirlinwonderlandx.blogpsot.com), her blog is lovely and so is her Instagram so you should all check her out! I've been wanting to do a drugstore makeup starter kit for while now, so I thought it was about time I did one. Also I've had a lot of people on Instagram asking me for some recommendations of drugstore makeup products, so I thought I would do this to help lots you! This post would be helpful if you are just starting out in makeup and you are looking for some good products in the drugstore.

Face

Let's start with bases, personally, I prefer to use BB cream as it is light and moisturising. The BB cream I love to use is the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. This product feels really light on the skin, like I am wearing no makeup, but it also has some coverage but the coverage is quite light. I tend to think of BB creams as tinted moisturisers as they are very hydrating on my skin. I really recommend picking this up, my one is for oily skin but Maybelline do another edition which is the Dream Fresh BB cream. I think if you're just starting out in makeup a BB cream is better because you don't want to be putting a heavy foundation on as it might look quite cakey.

If you think you're skin does not need foundation but you want to cover up a few blemishes, then definitely try out the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I cannot talk about this enough! The formula of this is amazing, it has very high coverage which means if you have an evil red spot then this concealer will cover it up. Also, this only £4.19 which is amazing for the quality you get.

I think powder is essential especially if you have oily skin, like me. I have heard many good things about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, but if I am honest, I haven't actually tried that. I use the Natural Collection Pressed Powder and this works fine for me. It helps to set my concealer or foundation and it also keeps me matte as well. This is only £1.99 which is really good for what you get.

For cheeks, I really recommend Sleek products. They're blushes are amazing and reasonably priced as well. The blush shade I have is called Pixie Pink and is a really pretty pink. They are really pigmented so you really don't need a lot. If you are looking for a contour product then Sleek do a great Contour Kit which I have already reviewed on my blog here. It comes with a contour, highlight and a blush all in one palette.

Eyes

There are many amazing eyeshadows out there. But my personal favourite is the MUA eyeshadow palette in Undressed. Apparently it is a dupe for the Naked 1 palette but the MUA one is £4! You may think that because it is cheap the quality is not good but you are wrong! You get 12 shades, a range of matte and shimmery ones and they are amazingly pigmented. The colours are very neutral as well and I really recommend these.

Next is eyeliners, if you are looking to do a winged eyeliner look, then I recommend starting with a felt tip liner as I think they are the easiest to work with. The one I like to use is the Collection Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner (is it just me or do Collection products always have really long names?) The nib for this is really thin so you can get an accurate line. Rimmel do very good pencil eyeliners, I like the Rimmel Kohl Kajal in Nude to apply on my waterline. The Rimmel Soft Kajal Pencil in Sable Brown is nice as well, I prefer brown because it looks more softer than black.

Mascaras are very difficult to choose just one for. There are so many great and affordable mascaras in the drugstore. But I personally recommend the Maybelline mascaras, especially the Falsies Mascara. It is very nice and lengthening and also very volumnising at the same time. I also like the Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara. There are many other great mascaras, Rimmel do good ones as well.

Lips

I have a few favourite lipsticks in the drugstore but I really recommend the Revlon Lip Butters. The shades I have are Sorbet, Sweet Tart and Strawberry Shortcake (I also have Berry Smoothie which I forgot to take a picture of. I have done a review on these which you can view here. They are very nice and moisturising as well as pigmented. If you are looking for a lipgloss, definitely pick up some of the Barry M lip glosses, my personal favourite is Toffee which is a browny nude colour. But they do other colours too.

Brushes

I think brushes are not necessary, but it is helpful especially if you are going to be using a foundation. Without doubt I recommend the Real Techniques, I have done a whole blog post on these which you can view here. They are very affordable and I highly recommend the Core Collection which includes four face brushes. The quality of these brushes are amazing as well, they are super soft and the hairs do not fall off at all.

Thank you for reading this blog post and if you would liked this blog post then check out my blog! I hope you enjoyed and sorry it was quite long I just have so many makeup products to talk about haha! Hope you have a nice day, bye!

The Ultimate Winter Palette

I remember looking at this palette on the Barry M website a few months ago when it came out and I absolutely loved it. The colours screamed autumn and winter to me. But I only just picked it up a few weeks ago and let me tell you it is the prettiest palette ever. The colours are so different and autumnal, ranging from  mattes and shimmers. It is called the Starry Eyed Palette which I think is a cute name, but the thing that drew me to it was definitely the shades.

First of all, the outer packaging is a deep purple wine colour which is perfect for winter. Like the other Barry M palettes, it contains 6 eyeshadows and a blush. The Starry Eyed Palette contains a shimmery orange with a hint of gold shimmer which is nice as I don't have a shade of blush like this. There are 3 shimmer eyeshadow shades and 3 mattes, I do love matte shades so that is always good. The first colour is a creamy beige, more of a nude skin tone shade. The next one is a shimmery blue which I haven't used yet but I think that could be gorgeous for a party. One of my favourite shades is the matte mahogany red shade which is peerrrrfeeectt for autumn! There is also a shimmery gold and a matte dark brown which is another one of my favourites. The last shade is beautiful, its a shimmery brown with red and gold glitter, quite similar to the shade blackheart in the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

As you can see I really do love the colours in this palette, however I do have to say they aren't the most pigmented shadows I've worked with but they are still relatively pigmented. The shimmers to tend to have quite a bit of glitter fallout but I'm sure I can work with that. Overall, this palette is stunning and I am really impressed by it, it is Limited Edition though so you better get it quickly if you want it! Thank you for reading, I hope you liked this post!

Best Beauty Products of 2014

I did this post last year about my favourite products of 2013, so I thought I should do it every year so here are my favourite makeup products of 2014! This post is a collaboration with Leah from Pretty Perfect (www.prettyperfectxoxo.blogspot.com), her blog is lovely and so is her Instagram so go and check her out! We both did our best beauty products of 2014 so you can read hers as well.

Let's start with the face makeup, the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream has been one of my favourites for sure. It is so natural and feels very light on my skin, it also evens out my skin tone as well as moisturising it. I've used it so much in the past year! I've always loved Sleek for their blushes and bronzers, so the Sleek Face Form contour and blush palette is definitely in my 2014 favourites! I use the bronzer so much as it is such a perfect contouring shade. This palette is so pretty as well, the blush is a stunning pink with gold shimmers which makes it even more gorgeous.

The MUA Undressed palette has been my favourite for 2014, the colours are just perfect for everyday, there's a mix of mattes and shimmers and I have used it so much! I have done a full review here if you would like to check it out! This eyeshadow palette is a great dupe of the Naked 1 palette by Urban Decay, but for a much cheaper price of £4! I noticed myself loving the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara more and more every time I used it, which is why I have put it in this post! It is so volumnising and deserves to be raved about more! Another favourite mascara of mine is the Maybelline One by One, the most lengthening mascara I've ever used, it's just amazing.

I couldn't not include the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 'Demure', I have mentioned this on my blog so many times because I am obsessed with it, still am! The colour is gorgeous and it is such a pretty pinky nude lip colour. Another lip crayon I have loved is the Bourjois Colourboost Crayon in Peach on the Beach. This was forever on my lips all throughout summer, so I think it deserved to be in this blog post. The last lip product that has been a love of mine in the past year is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 08, it's a stunning browny pink shade. It's a very similar colour to that Kylie Jenner Lip trend going around, such a gorgeous nude!

Onto brushes! I have only used Real Techniques Brushes, so out of the ones I have tried I love the. Buffing Brush and the Deluxe Crease Brush. The buffing brush is perfect for foundation and blending concealer. And the deluxe crease brush can be used for either concealer or eyeshadow!

I cannot believe 2014 is over, this year went so fast! But I hope you enjoyed this blog post and have a great new year! What were your favourites of 2014?

Current Favourites

Instead of doing a December Favourites, I decided to do a Current favourites because most of the products in this post I haven't actually loved all throughout December, mainly towards the end of the month.  So this post is a collab with Laura (www.beautyybylauraa.blogspot.co.uk) you should all check her blog out as she's so lovely and so is her blog!

Makeup
I have a post coming up on this in 2 days so I won't go into too much detail. But I am just in love with the Barry M Starry Eyed Palette. I mean, just look at it! The colours are gorgeous and perfect for winter. As I said a post is coming up on this, but I just love this palette and I couldn't not mention it! I've also recently been obsessed with winged eyeliner, the eyeliner I've been using is the Collection Fast Stroke eyeliner. It makes eyeliner so easy as its very liquidy and glides on like a dream! I am definitely going to be doing a How to do Eyeliner post soon! Next up are two lipsticks which I am currently loving! The first one is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 107, I used this in my Christmas Day Makeup so you can check that out here if you want to see it on! It's such a gorgeous dark vampy lipstick, I've never really owned a dark colour like this so its so nice to own one! The other lipstick is by L'Oreal and it is in the shade J Lo's nude, I think it is also called Cheryl's nude as well? But anyway, it is such a pretty natural every day nude and I've been wearing it so much!  My last makeup favourite is actually a brush, its the Real Techniques Multi Tasking Brush, this brush is just so useful. It comes in the Travel Set so it also comes with two other brushes. But I can use this brush for so many things: blending foundation, powder, blush and even bronzer!

Skincare
I don't really talk about skincare that much on my blog, but that doesn't mean I don't take care of my skin! I've recently been using the Garnier Miscellar Cleansing Water to remove my makeup and I wish I'd bought it sooner! Its amazing, takes my makeup up so quickly - even mascara! If you haven't tried this already (what are you waiting for?!) I'd really recommend picking it up!

This next favourite I didn't take a picture of because it is currently in my bathroom. It is the Lush Bohemian Soap, if you aren't a fan of zesty scents you will dislike this one! However, zesty, citrusy and fruity scents are my favourite! This soap is made from lemon oil so it has a light citrus scent, I've just been loving using this as it is really refreshing.

Music
If you follow me on instagram (which is another one of my favourites! Follow me @_beautiegirl I post regularly!) then you'll know I have been OBSESSED with Taylor Swift's 1989 album. Every single song is brilliant, in fact I'm listening to it right now. My favourite songs are I Know Places, Wonderland, Wildest Dreams, Blank Space and New Romantics. Plus the polaroids that come with the album are just too cute.

Blogs
Here are a few of my favourite blogs I have loved this month, I recently discovered them and I'm absolutely in love with their blogs:
Rebecca - From Roses
Holly - Bloomin' Rouge

So that is what I am currently loving at the moment, I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading! Also be sure to check out Laura's post, here are some of her favourites!
