10 Reasons Why I Love Autumn

autumn

1) It's time to wear cosy knitwear and scarves and autumn colours.
2) Finally have an excuse to wear my dark berry lipsticks and feel all autumnal.
3) It starts to get dark early so you have to turn the lights on (I don't know why I like that but it makes me feel all cosy and wintery.)
4) It's a lot colder so it means I can wear winter pyjamas and not get too hot.
5) Hot Chocolate mmmm.
6) Trees turn into pretty colours and the leaves fall everywhere.
7) Christmas is nearly here!
8) Shops bring out all the Christmas ranges and autumn clothes.
9) It's finally time to light all the Autumnal scented candles.
10) I can watch all the Halloween and Christmas movies I want!

My Top Autumn Lipsticks

Autumn is a time of berry shades and dark lipsticks. So I bring you my Top 3 Autumn lipsticks consisting of a dark vampy shade, a classic red and a berry shade. How very autumnal!

Rimmel Kate Moss 107
Probably the most typical autumn lipstick out there, but it's because it is the most perfect autumnal shade! It's the perfect mix between a red and a purple creating the most beautiful dark vampy berry shade. However it's not too dark that it is still very wearable. I can see myself wearing this lipstick a lot this season (whose to say I haven't already worn it?) It is a matte finish which I think is best for such a bold lipstick. It also means that it lasts a long time and doesn't slip and slide everywhere. For around the £5 mark, you can't go wrong with this lipstick

Revlon Lip Butter 'Berry Smoothie'
Sometimes you may want to have a more subtle autumn lip option, and for me that is this lipstick. The Revlon Lip Butters are like a very pigmented tinted lip balm, they are moisturising, hydrating but also have a lot of colour in them. This shade is a really pretty pinky berry colour (hence the name) and when applied will leave you lips feeling nice and moisturised but also leaves a nice tint on them!

Rimmel Kate Moss 08
This doesn't look like your typical autumn lipstick shade as it's more of an autumn nude shade. I really love the colour of this lipstick as it is a dark mauve/ pink nude shade and is definitely, for me, a my lips but better shade. I never really hear many people talking about this lipstick but the colour is stunning and so is the formula. It isn't a matte finish like the 107 shade, but it is very creamy and pigmented and smells really nice as well!

L'Oreal Colour Riche 461 'Scarlett Creme'
I think red is probably the best autumn and winter colour. So why not wear it as a lipstick? I'd say this is more for Christmas time as red is very festive. But it's September now so that means Christmas is very near (as you can tell I'm very excited for Christmas!) the quality of L'Oreal Lipsricks are incredible and they are about £7 which is so good for the lipstick! The lipstick is very pigmented and glides on smoothly. I really recommend you try out some of the L'Oreal Lipsticks!

The Post About Primers

I never used to be into Primers as I didn't really own many. I used to stick to my trusted Porefessional from Benefit and I didn't really use anything else. But quite recently I have a lot more in my collection so I thought I would talk through them all as they all have different purposes and uses. Just warning I do go into a bit of detail!

Benefit Porefessional // £24.50
This is the most expensive out of all the primers in this post and the first primer I actually owned. I own a mini size and a full size of this, and it lasts for so long because you really do not need a lot of product when you use this. I use a tiny pea-sized amount and apply it around my nose and cheek area, and also a bit on my forehead. I like this because it really smooths out the skin and blurs out pores but not drastically, but it has a subtle difference. I'd say this is more suitable for oily skin types and if you have pores, otherwise it doesn't really do much to your skin if you don't have any pores! It does also make your skin have a matte finish so I wouldn't recommend it if you have dry skin. But I do really like this primer and it does smoothen and blur out pores.

Maybelline Baby Skin Warm Apricot // £7.99
One from the drugstore this time, this primer is a lot more different to the Porefessional. The consistency is a lot more liquid and I believe it is water-based, well that's what it says on the Boots website anyway! I really like these primers as they smooth out the skin, hydrate it and provide a nice base for my make-up. I really have noticed my make-up lasting a lot longer with this primer, especially foundation if I am wearing foundation that day. The smell is also quite nice, I think they tried to make it smell like apricots which is nice. I chose the warm apricot shade becuase my skin is a lot more warm toned than pink toned.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Pore Minimiser // £8.50
At first I expected this primer to have a velvety consistency like the Porefessional which is silicone based. However the consistency of this primer is a lot different, I believe it is water based like the Maybelline one as it is more runny and liquidy. It has quite a strong smell of Tea Tree which for me I don't mind because I quite like the smell, but if you don't like the smell that could be a problem. My first impression when I used this was how nice it is to blend into the skin, it is very refreshing. I;m not sure if it does too much difference to my pores but like the Benefit primer I'd say it is a subtle difference! And this primer does make my makeup last longer which is always good. The finish is quite matte so I'd recommend it for oily to normal skin types.

Benefit That Gal Primer // £24.50
I don't own the full size of this just a mini which came in a set. But this primer is a lot different to the ones I usually use as it hasn't got a matte finish and is more of a brightening and glowy primer. I love using this when I want my skin to have a dewy finish and to be glowing. It is really natural and really brightening which I love. If you are looking for a primer with these characteristics then I recommend you check this one out!

The Body Shop Instablur Primer // £14
I've talked about this quite a lot on my blog recently but that's because it's so amazing! I'd say it is very similar to the Porefessional in the finish and consistency of it. It is very thick and silicone based and has a matte finish. So it is more suitable for oily skin types. Whenever I use this it really does make my skin stay matte for longer and keeps my makeup from sliding or melting away. This is probably my favourite primer out of all the ones I own and I would definitely repurchase it!
