Hairstyle - Milkmaid Braid

Hey beauties! Today I thought I would show you a hairstyle that I was inspired to do by Zoe aka Zoella and Susie aka Hello October. It's called a milkmaid braid and I think it's super cute. It is two plaits going across the top of your head and it is really easy to do!

All I did was split my hair into two and I then braided my hair and tied it up using an elastic band; I was now left me with two plaits like pigtails. Taking one of the plaits, I swept it across the top of my head and clipped it into place using some bobby pins the same colour as my hair so they blend in. I did the same with the other braid but tucked in the elastic bands under one of the plaits so that it was hidden and the plaits looked like one. I then tucked away any bits of hair that were sticking out and I pulled out a small section of hair at the front to make it look messier. So that is how you do the milkmaid braid! It's really easy and looks so cute!

I'm wearing:
Top - Miss Selfidge

I hope you enjoyed this hairstyle post and if you would like more please tell me in the comments! Thank you for reading, bye!

Barry M Blue Moon Nails

Hey beauties! So todays blog post is going to be slightly random and its my Nails Of The Day aka NOTD! Today on my nails I have Barry M's Blue Moon which is a gorgeous pastel blue. However there's something different about this nail varnish which is that it has a slight blue shimmer which you can see in one of the photos above. I love this nail varnish as it's a kind of powdery cloudy blue but in a gorgeous pastel way. This colour is perfect for spring and I think will look super cute.

The only bad thing I have to say though is that it's quite sheer and this needs about 3 layers. I could've added more if I wanted it to be really opaque but I'm not the best nail painter and most of the time it never dries and ends up smudging everywhere. So I wanted to stay safe and leave it how it was instead of adding another layer. Although its not exactly opaque, I think its quite nice sheer as it looks a lot more softer and girly which is totally what spring is all about.

I really recommend the Barry M nail varnishes (especially the Gelly Hi-Shine ones) but for £2.99 this nail varnish is really good and is a gorgeous colour. It lacks a bit of pigmentation but with a few layers it is easily sorted. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you would like to see more Nail posts, maybe some nail art ideas? Then please comment below and follow me on bloglovin! Thanks for reading, bye!

Colours of the Rainbow Tag!

Hey beauties! Today's blog post is going to be a tag that I saw on YouTube going around. They said they tagged everyone so I chose to do it as well. If you haven't heard of this then it's pretty simple; you have to pick your favourite beauty items that are the same colours as the rainbow. However I've kind of changed it up a bit because I'm not really doing my favourite products. I just picked different products that weren't very similar to each other. So the colours I have done are red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise (blue), indigo (dark blue), violet (purple) and pink!

Red
For red I have chosen the Bourjois 3D Effect lip gloss. This lip gloss is so pigmented and not sticky at all. It's very glossy which is nice and it has a very nice smell. Sometimes lip glosses can smell slightly chemically however this one has a pleasant smell which I genuinely have no idea how to describe.

Orange
I'm not surprised that I chose this but it is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. I know, I know it's not actually orange but the packaging is which is what I've mainly chosen all of these products on. I absolutely love this lip product. It's basically a tinted lip balm but it is actually quite pigmented depending on how much you use. It adds a nice cherry colour to your lips and the smell is absolutely delicious! For £2.99 I definitely recommend these if you haven't tried them already.

Yellow
I think this was actually the only yellow product I have but its the Maybelline Colossum Mascara. Unfortunately this is practically run out so I don't use it that often but if you would like to see a full review of it click here.

Green
Like the mascara above this was the only green thing I had. It is a Vaseline in the Aloe Vera flavour. I've had this for a long time and it still hasn't run out but this is really nice to moisturise my lips.

Turquoise (blue)
I couldn't decide which product to choose but I've chosen the Porefessional by Benefit. This is so good and really helps to remove pores. It smoothens out my sking and softens it as well. I have a mini size which is perfect for travelling but the full size is much bigger.

Indigo (dark blue)
I have chosen a really basic product I know, sorry about that. I think that Nivea lip balms are essential and this is just the Original one. If your lips are getting dry then these are a life saver!

Violet (purple)
Another lip balm sorry! This is The Body Shop lip balm in Passionberry. I absolutely love the Body Shop's lip balms and Passionberry is by far my favourite. It doesn't come out purple so don't worry but it has a very very very faint tint which would probably show up if you put loads on. The smell of this though is just incredible! If I tried to describe it, I would probably end up describing it terribly wrong so I will leave you to find out when you smell it in the shop (you really should smell it.)

Pink
Now this was a tough one as I have a lot of products with pink on them. But I've decided to go with my Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart as they are just so pretty and such amazing products! I have done a full review on these which you can see here. Revlon Lip Butters are such amazing products, they are so moisturising and are very pigmented at the same time. Definitely recommend these!

So that was my Colours Of the Rainbow Tag! I tag all of you to do this and if you have any requests for blog posts then please comment them down below! I hope you have enjoyed this and if you like my blog please follow it! Thanks for reading, bye!

Maybelline Coloursensational Popstick Review

Hey beauties! Today's blogpost is going to be a review on the Colour Sensational Popsticks by Maybelline. I picked this up the other day from TK MAXX for £2.99 which is a bargain as the usual price is £7.19. I believe these were limited edition which is probably why it was a lot cheaper. The shade I picked up was 080 Cherry Pop ; in the shop the lipstick came in a plastic packaging (they don't do this in boots or superdrugs for lipsticks) so this meant I couldn't actually see the colour. Instead, I did a quick search on google and I saw it was a red which I thought looked quite nice. After I had paid for it I opened it up and to my shock, it looked like jelly. I quickly swatched it on my hand and it looked orange, very different to the actual colour of the lipstick.

I really like the packaging for this product. The lid is a transparent pink which has an orange iridescent. I expected these to be similar to the Revlon Lip Butters but I am very wrong. These are a lot more sheer and glossy and are more like a lip balm. The lipstick does smelly amazing though; as mine is called Cherry Pop, unsurprisingly the lip stick smells of cherries.

Like I said earlier this lipstick looks like jelly but in a more solid form. It's quite translucent and there isn't much product in there. I would've expected there to be more because of how sheer it is. You can see in the swatches above that the lipstick is very sheer with a light swatch. However it is very buildable. Also, it comes out very orange which is unusual because the lipstick is red. I am a bit disappointed with this as I would've preferred if it was red. Moreover the taste isn't particularly pleasing and tastes quite bitter.

Overall I wouldn't really recommend these and I have learnt my lesson not to buy makeup form TK MAXX (or not to buy lipsticks more specifically) without swatching it. But I guess for £2.99 it's pretty decent. If I saw this again in a different shade in TK MAXX for the same price I'm not going to lie but I would probably buy it as I like the packaging and the lipsticks aren't too bad (it's probably just the shade I got.) But I would have to see swatches in google first. However if I saw this for the normal price of £7.19 I would not buy it. Anyway I hope you liked this post and if you have any requests please pop them in the comments below! Thanks for reading, bye!

Spring 2014 - Nudes and Natural

Hey guys! Recently I was looking at some photos for the Spring Beauty Trends for 2014. In the magazines I read, the trends they talked about were cat eyes, orange lips etc. But I noticed in most of the photos, the models had neutral makeup and natural skin. They had nude lipsticks on and minimal eye makeup. Also a new upcoming trend this spring is white nails. So I've put together some of my favourite natural makeup products and some pale nail polishes which will be perfect for this spring. Plus I'm thinking of doing a spring outfit blogpost with different styles like floral and monochrome etc; would you like to see that? Anyway on with the nude and natural beauty products!

Nail Polishes (left to right) Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener, Topshop Nails in Milkshake, Essie in Imported Bubbly. Like I said earlier, whites are coming in trend so you could use any white nail varnish you have. The only one I have is one for French Manicures so I really need to buy one :) I also think that pastel pinks will gorgeous this spring so I have picked this pretty pink from Topshop called Milkshake. I've also chosen to include this pearly colour from Essie called Imported Bubbly.

I think this Nivea Pearly Shine is really nice for this spring. It leaves a pearly pink colour on your lips that is really natural and cute. Natural Collection do some really pretty lipsticks for £1.99. I have included this lipstick in my February Favourites and it is the Natural Collection lipstick in Rose Petal. It's a gorgeous pinky nude and looks gorgeous on. For a lip gloss I have decided to go with my Estee Lauder lipgloss in Electric Ginger. It is a shimmery gold and is very wearable and glossy.

The only eye product I've chosen is the Rimmel Waterproof Kajal Liner in Nude. This is gorgeous on the waterline to brighten up your eyes. It's very creamy and pigmented and is brilliant for £3.99.

For cheeks I have chosen Benefits High Beam because it gives your cheekbones a lovely glow. As the sun begins to come out this month, your cheeks will look gorgeous with this on!

Thank you for reading this blog post and I hope you are looking forward to spring as much as I am! Follow me on bloglovin and if you would like to, please leave a comment in the section below telling me what you think! Bye!

Februrary Favourites

Hey guys! I hope you're all having a nice day. So somehow we're already 1/4 of the way through the year! February is over so that means it's time for my monthly favourites (even though the last one I did was my October Favourites!) I always find doing monthly favourites really difficult because I often find myself choosing things that I've been loving towards the end of the month. So from now on I'm going to make a list of everything I've been loving through out March! Anyway here are the things I've been loving throughout February.

Victoria Secret Fragrance Mist in Mango Temptation

I purchased this gorgeous body spray at the end of December during the Boxing Day Sales. It's a really pretty pink and stood out to me when I was picking a fragrance. It is by far my favourite out of the VS sprays I own. "Mango, nectar and hibiscus." To be honest I can't really smell any of those in it probably because I don't actually know what they smell like. But to me (the worst person at describing scents) it smells like a juicy, fruity flower. Haha I did say I was bad at describing scents! I have really been loving this as its nice to just whip out and spray all over and walk out the door.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream

This BB Cream is so good and I will be reviewing this very soon. This one is for oily skin and I have the shade light which I do think is too pink toned. However it is really lightweightand feels like a moisturiser, yet still provides coverage. I just really like using it as it evens out my skin tone and is super quick and easy to apply. Totally recommend trying this out.

Natural Collection Moisture Shine Lipstick Rose Petal

I've actually had this lipstick for quite a while. But recently I've really been loving it. It's a gorgeous nude with pink undertones. Perfect for spring. It's also really moisturising but I still like to apply a lip balm underneath. This lipstick is nicely pigmented and creamy; if you haven't already, then you should check out Natural Collection lipsticks as theyre only £1.99 but are great quality! Sorry I didn't take a photo of this product (and some other ones) but the lighting went really dark with this lipstick so it didn't look very nice.

Primark P.S Love Lip Gloss Crayon

I included this in my Lip Crayon blog post which you can view here. For £.1.50 this product is surprisingly really nice. Its really glossy and sheer, would've been better if it was more pigmented but I guess that would've made it more expensive haha. I've really been loving this crayon as it's really quick and easy to apply and not to bold.

Collection Super Size Mascara

I have done a review on this mascara so you can read more about that if you click here. This mascara is really natural and lengthening and I've been using it quite a lot. I'm not going to say a lot because I've gone into a lot of detail in my other blogpost.

Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush

Last month I used this brush quite a lot especially for concealer under the eyes. I know it is supposed to be used for the crease, but I think it's perfect for blending concealer under my eyes as it's not too big so it doesn't poke me in the eye! Also it is very dense so it really blends well. This brush comes in the Starter Set so unfortunately you can't buy it on its own.

Music

This month I have been loving a few artists such as Lorde, Haim, London Grammar and Miley Cyrus. Saying this, some of my favourite songs have been ones in the charts but I thought that you probably have heard of most of them so these are some different songs. Here are some of my favourites:

Lorde - Team
Haim - The Wire, If I Could Change Your Mind
London Grammar - Strong
Miley Cyrus - Drive, Adore You
