The "My Lips But Better" Shades

I have often described some of my lip products to be a 'my lips but better shade'. So I thought I would do a post on them! These are the lipsticks that are really similar to my natural lip shade, but make them slightly better. Anyway let me get on with the lipsticks, the ones I think are really 'me' shades are the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nude-ist' and Rimmel Kate Moss in '08'.

Starting with the Bourjois Liquid Lipstick, this is a new product for me as I picked it up recently. The product has a doe foot applicator, so it is quite similar to a lip gloss. However the consistency is nothing like a lip gloss, in fact its like a liquid lipstick. The pigmentation is insane, and so is the lasting power! And I was a bit worried that it might be drying, as it is a matte finish, however it is creamy and not drying whatsoever. It really does have a velvety feeling on the lips, which is lovely and why I love this product so much! I would describe the shade as a deep rose colour, slightly pink and brown as well.

I think the Bourjois lipstick is a bit more bold, but the Rimmel one is definitely more of a neutral option. It is the shade 08 and is more of a pink mauve and isn't as dark as the previous product. And probably less pigmented, however, it is still a lovely shade and I would 100% say this is my go to lipstick as it suits my lip colour so well. This doesn't have a matte finish, it is more creamy and smooth. This is such an amazing lipstick and is only about £5 so I really recommend it!

These two lipsticks are definitely some of my favourites. The colours are so pretty and I love wearing them. If you haven't got them, then I really recommend you check them out! Thank you for reading!

April Favourites

Today is time for another Monthly Favourites post. I have a few new beauty favourites this month, as I bought some new things recently.

Beauty

If you have been reading my blog for a while, you may know that the Maybelline One By One Mascara has been one of my favourites for a while. This is actually my second bottle because I love it so much I repurchased it. I featured it in my Favourite Four Mascara post if you want to read more on it.

A new discovery of mine this month has been the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet in 'Nud-ist'. I have a post all about it coming up, so more detail about that will be in that post. But I love the colour and the lasting-power is amazing, these lip products are incredible.  I will definitely be picking up more shades.

I also rediscovered a No7 eyeshadow (doesn't have a shade name on it) that I haven't used that much before. It is a brown/ grey/ taupe shade with a slight shimmer. I have found this to be such a natural all over the lid shade.

I have had a few break-outs this month and the one product I have found to really help with covering them up has been the Benefit Stay Don't Stray. It's a concealer and eyeshadow primer, I've been using it underneath my concealer as it makes it last much longer. I really like this and I always use it to cover anything that I want to stay covered the whole day!

Another new favourite for this month, also from Bourjois, is the Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum. This is a foundation but it's more light and natural which is why I love it so much. I really like wearing this as it has such a perfect consistency. I really recommend this foundation if you are looking for a natural base.

My brush favourite for this month is the Real Techniques Setting Brush. I have been using it for blending my under eye concealer and setting it with powder. It's not really a brush that I hear much about, but it is still a real necessity in my brush collection.

The last beauty favourite for April has been The Body Shop Passionfruit Body Butter. If you have tried these body butters then you will know how moisturising, buttery and amazing they are! Also the Passionfuit scent is my favourite, it's so fruity and it smells lovely.

Drugstore Haul

I rarely do hauls on my blog, so this is probably the first one in 10 months or something like that. I suppose I could call this a Collective Haul as I didn't buy it all in one go. Anyway on with the things I bought.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer // £4.19
I am forever repurchasing this product, it's such a necessity. I used to be the Shade 2 but that was a little bit dark for me so now I am using the lightest shade (1 Fair). You have probably heard lots about this concealer, but if you haven't then definitely try it out. The coverage is great and it's so affordable too.

Rimmel Stay Matte Powder //  £3.99
Surprisingly, I have never actually every used this powder before. But the powder I usually use everyday (Natural Collection Pressed Powder) is beginning to run out and I need a new one. So I decided to try this out as I have heard lots of good things.

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum // £10.99 - 2 for £14
This has been on my wishlist for quite a while. I have been looking for something light weight everytime I went into Boots I have always been debating whether to buy it or not. But I am so glad I bought it as, from what I have tried so far, it feels really nice on my skin and nothing too heavy. I will be doing a full review on this so keep your eyes peeled for that!

Bourjois Rouge Velvet Edition in 'Nude-ist' // £8.99 - 2 for £14
Just like the foundation, this has been something I have wanted for so long, since it came out I think. I've heard so many people raving about them and I really wanted to try out the shade Nude-ist which looks like a browny pink but on my lips and when swatched it's definitely more of a muted pink/mauve. But the formula is absolutely amazing, it literally feels like velvet. I was worried it would be drying or patchy but it isn't at all!

I will definitely be writing some more in-depth reviews of some of my new purchases and I'm sure they will soon become my top favourites. Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed!

Lip Crayon Obsession

I've slowly grown an obsession with Lip Crayons and I thought I would share with you the collection that I have!

The first 3 are all from Revlon and I think these have to be my favourite! The first one is the Revlon Matte Balm in 'Elusive', it has a really creamy consistency and isn't drying at all! The next 2 are both the Revlon Laqcquer Balms in shades: 'Vivacious' and 'Demure'. I think demure has to be my all time favourite as it's the perfect nude! Vivacious is also a really nice bold pink shade.

The 4th lip crayon is the newest to my collection, I got it for Christmas and it's from Collection. It's the Collection Work the Colour Lip Butter in 'Vintage Rose'. It's a browny pink nude and is very creamy. I don't really have a shade like it so I really like this lip crayon!

Last but not least ( I can assure you I will probably have more lip crayons in the future!) is the Bourjois Colourboost in the shade Peach on the Beach. If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know that I was obsessed with this product last summer as it's such a pretty peachy summery shade!

As you can see lip crayons are really my favourite! What are your favourite lip crayons?

Best Beauty Products of 2014

I did this post last year about my favourite products of 2013, so I thought I should do it every year so here are my favourite makeup products of 2014! This post is a collaboration with Leah from Pretty Perfect (www.prettyperfectxoxo.blogspot.com), her blog is lovely and so is her Instagram so go and check her out! We both did our best beauty products of 2014 so you can read hers as well.

Let's start with the face makeup, the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream has been one of my favourites for sure. It is so natural and feels very light on my skin, it also evens out my skin tone as well as moisturising it. I've used it so much in the past year! I've always loved Sleek for their blushes and bronzers, so the Sleek Face Form contour and blush palette is definitely in my 2014 favourites! I use the bronzer so much as it is such a perfect contouring shade. This palette is so pretty as well, the blush is a stunning pink with gold shimmers which makes it even more gorgeous.

The MUA Undressed palette has been my favourite for 2014, the colours are just perfect for everyday, there's a mix of mattes and shimmers and I have used it so much! I have done a full review here if you would like to check it out! This eyeshadow palette is a great dupe of the Naked 1 palette by Urban Decay, but for a much cheaper price of £4! I noticed myself loving the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara more and more every time I used it, which is why I have put it in this post! It is so volumnising and deserves to be raved about more! Another favourite mascara of mine is the Maybelline One by One, the most lengthening mascara I've ever used, it's just amazing.

I couldn't not include the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 'Demure', I have mentioned this on my blog so many times because I am obsessed with it, still am! The colour is gorgeous and it is such a pretty pinky nude lip colour. Another lip crayon I have loved is the Bourjois Colourboost Crayon in Peach on the Beach. This was forever on my lips all throughout summer, so I think it deserved to be in this blog post. The last lip product that has been a love of mine in the past year is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 08, it's a stunning browny pink shade. It's a very similar colour to that Kylie Jenner Lip trend going around, such a gorgeous nude!

Onto brushes! I have only used Real Techniques Brushes, so out of the ones I have tried I love the. Buffing Brush and the Deluxe Crease Brush. The buffing brush is perfect for foundation and blending concealer. And the deluxe crease brush can be used for either concealer or eyeshadow!

I cannot believe 2014 is over, this year went so fast! But I hope you enjoyed this blog post and have a great new year! What were your favourites of 2014?

Festive Makeup Favourites

Some products I will look at this and instantly think Christmas, but some are a subtle hint of festivity. This post is a mix of both, some will scream Christmas and others not as much. I have put together a few of my favourite Christmas products, here they are!

Bourjois 3D Effect Lip Gloss in 06 Rouge Democratic
This is clearly a very festive lip colour. It's a bold red with a little but of shimmer. When it's is applied it isn't as bold but more of a wash or red, but it's definitely buildable. I love this at Christmas as red is just such a festive colour!

No7 Highlighter
I don't know why but I always associate sparkle and shimmer with Christmas, which is why I have chosen this gorgeous highlighter from No7. It's a very glittery highlighter and not for a subtle glow kind of person. This product would be gorgeous for a Christmas party!

M.A.C Lipstick in Speak Louder
Typically, Christmas would be a bold red lip kind of situation, but I think a deep pink would also be a nice different alternative. I have the shade Speak Louder which is a gorgeous bold pink but is still very wearable without being to bright. I will definitely be wearing this to Christmas Parties coming up!

Barry M Glamour Puss Palette
Once again, more shimmer! These colours a very different to what I would usually wear, there are some olive tones and also a purple shade! But the main reason I picked this was for the shimmery colours, I think they could make a gorgeous smokey eye! You wouldn't normally think of Christmas when you see this but I think it could work nicely!

Revlon Laquer Balm in Demure
The last product I have chosen is a pinky nude lip crayon with a subtle hint of glitter. Aside from reds and bold lips, I think it's nice to have a nude option! I really like this lip crayon as i would describe it as having a lustre finish (like the MAC lipsticks haha!) Which means it looks really natural and pretty.

So that is all my Christmassy products I have chosen! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and thanks for reading!

Top 5 Thursday - Autumn Nail Varnishes

I'm back again with a Top 5 Thursday post which is going to be a monthly thing. Last month I did my Top 5 perfumes and today I am going to tell you about my top 5 Autumn Nail Varnishes. When I think of autumn I think of burgundies, purple, reds and dark colours. I think my choice of nail varnishes really represents these autumnal vibes!

Bourjois So Lacquer in 24 'Rouge Escarpin'
If you're looking for a very sophisticated red then this is the one to go for. It applies very easily and smooth and you really only need one coat because it's so opaque. I think the quality of this nail varnish is great and it dries quickly to a gloss.

Essie Leading Lady
Glitters are perfect for the Christmas season and this gorgeous Essie nail varnish in the shade leading Lady is perfect for the festive season. It's a dark red plum colour with red glitters and I think this could look stunning on all the nails or as an accent nail. As usual for Essies, this nail varnish is great quality and needs about 2 coats but the results afterwards are lovely on the nails.

O.P.I Silver Shatter
This nail varnish is a top coat and has the crack/shatter effect similar to Barry am crocodile nails if you've ever tried that. It looks lovely on top of a bright red or simply white. I think the silver gives it a very winters feel which is why I think it's great for autumn. Only one coat is needed.

O.P.I Magazine Cover Mouse - Minnie Mouse Collection
I got this nail varnish in a set of 4 from the Minnie Mouse Collection, I feel like this nail varnish has the most festive feeling about it, I think its the gold sparkles in the red. This applies really nicely and only needs 1-2 coats. It is one of the O.P.I liquid sands so it has a sandy, gritty texture but looks great!

The last nail varnish doesn't have a name so I am unsure about the brand and shade; but it came in a set and I got it as a gift so I don't know where its from. But I think the colour is very autumnal, plums and berries are always on trend in autumn so if you can find a shade similar then please tell me!

There you have it, all my top 5 autumn nail varnishes, I don't have many autumnal shades as I have more of the bright spring and summer shades :( But thank you for reading and have a nice day, bye!

July Favourites

Once again another month has flown by and has brought me to some rediscoveries of things I love. July hasn't been a month for beauty favourites but mainly a month of random things.

Beauty
You may have guessed that this would be in here as I have mentioned it in many blog posts already in July. I just love the Bourjois Colourboost Lip Crayon in 'Peach on the Beach' and  I think it is the perfect summer lip colour. The formula is amazing as it is moisturising and very smooth to apply and the pigmentation is great as well. I have also loved having glowing and bronzed cheeks, the Benefit Sum Beam has ticked all the boxes for me this month. It's so easy to apply and makes your cheeks gorgeously radiant.

Non-Beauty
As it is the summer holidays I have been reading a lot more than I usually would. My favourite book in July that I read has to be 'I've Got Your Number' by Sophie Kinsella. I found it hilarious and so cute, the characters were so intriguing and although the ending was kind of predictable and some things were quite unrealistic. Okay I should probably tell you the plot (no spoilers don't worry), it's about girl named Poppy who is engaged to a guy name Magnus, she loses the engagement ring (which was an expensive family ring) and on the same day loses her phone. But then somehow she finds a phone in the bin (that's the unrealistic bit) and the phone belonged to Violet who was someone called Sam's PA. So Poppy ends up reading all Sam's e-mails and gets to know more about him. Its a very easy read book and I really recommend it if you want to read a feel-good book.

For TV shows I have been really obsessed with Gossip Girl, the storyline is so hooking I can't stop watching it. I can't even begin to describe it because I know I won't do any good. But if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it.

Recently I have been trying to eat healthily and smoothies have been something that I have been making nearly everyday. My favourite smoothies are berry ones, they are so easy to make and delicious.

Music
Bombay Bicycle Club - Lunar
Ed Sheeran - Nina, Bloodstream, I see Fire (from his X album)
Lana Del Rey - Brooklyn Baby, Cruel World (from her Ultraviolence album)

Thanks for reading I hope you enjoyed this blog post! Have a nice day, bye!

Summer Essentials ~ Summer in the Sun

Hey beauties! So summer is finally here! Well it was here quite a while ago but oh well. As it is summer, I like to change things up a bit to be more summer appropriate, so here are my summer essentials!

Products in the photo
Pink sunglasses - River Island
Mint sunglasses - Primark
Marc Jacobs Daisy Summer Edition
Orange bag - H&M
Maybelline Baby Lips Pink Punch
Bourjois Colourboost Lip Crayon in Peach on the Beach
Benefit Sun Beam
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Papaya
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Grapefruit
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Greenberry
Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in Blueberry

Nails
I think in summer I like to go for quite bright and fun colours. I absolutely love the Barry M Hi-Shine Gelly range as they last very well, have a an amazing colour range and are a bargain! I have the shade Greenberry (the bright turquoise colour) and my sister kindly let me borrow her three shades which are Papaya (the orange), Grapefruit (the pink) and Blueberry (the blue.)

Fragrance
My favourite summer fragrance is definitely the Marc Jacobs Daisy Summer Edition, unfortunately this was last years' limited edition so you can't buy it anymore. But I remember they did have a summer edition for this year but I think they were sold around spring :( I know that this perfume kind of looks a but odd as it's got a yello colour, but that doesn't mean it smells weird. It smells so fun and fruity and delicious (I know, I'm terrible at describing scents haha.)

Make-up
I love bright lips in summer and the Maybelline Baby Lips in Pink Punch is such a lovely bright pink shade I couldn't say no. Plus, the smell is incredible and smells like fruit punch. The Bourjois Lip Crayon in Peach on the Peach is literally the perfect summer shade. It's bright, pink, peachy, colourful and looks amazing on the lips. Summer is also about bronzed skin and the Benefit Sun Beam would be perfect to help give you cheeks that summer glow.

Sunglasses
Unfortunately I bought these last summer so you probably won't be able to get your hands on them anymore, but you might still be able to find ones similar. The pink ones were from River Island and the mint ones are from Primark. I think bright sunglasses look really cute in summer. But I also love oversized round ones (still on the look out for them.)

Bags
The camera really doesn't do this bag any justice, it's supposed to be a bright orangey coral colour but the camera makes it look very different. Anyway, this bright mini satchel is from H&M and I think it is super cute and would look nice with a plain monochrome outfit to add a pop of colour.

Thank you for reading this blog post I hope you enjoyed it! Tell me what your summer essentials are! Have a nice day, bye!

Holiday Makeup Must-Haves ~ Summer in the Sun

Hey beauties! I have another blog post in the Summer in the Sun Series that I talked about in my last blog post. Its all about summer and the holidays so I am going to show you my holiday make up must haves. These are the products I'm going to bring along with me on holiday though I will probably (definitely) not bring some of the lip products as I don't think I need all of those for 1 week.

Firstly my makeup bag is from Vera Wang and I got it in a set with the Princess perfume. I like how it is clear which means I can see all the products and it is quite large and spacious too which is always a bonus.

Face
I am bringing my trustworthy Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer as I use it all the time and cannot live without it. On holiday, I prefer not to wear a heavy foundation so I am just sticking to concealer and powder which is the Natural Collection Powder. I also just popped a mini High Beam by Benefit into the bag as well to add a bit of a radiant glow onto my cheeks. Instead of bringing a separate blush and bronzer, I chose the Sleek Face Form Kit as it has everything in the palette that I need. A matte bronzer, shimmery red/pink blush and a highlight all compact in one little palette.

Eyes
As I am to bring as little as possible, I thought a 12 eyeshadow palette probably wouldn't be appropriate. But a mini trio eyeshadow from 17 (now called Seventeen I think) in Metallic Toffee would be all I need as it has 3 shades that are wearable colours. Mascara-wise I have chosen the Maybelline Mega Plush but knowing me I will probably end up changing as I am not 100% sure which one to bring. I also am bringing the Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in 011 Sable.

Lips
Okay so I know I probably don't need 5 different lip options for 7 day holiday, but who knows whether I will be craving a bold peach or a natural nude lip? So its better to bring all the options for whatever lip colour I am feeling that day. I have brought the MUA lipstick in Shade 16 'Nectar', a flattering peachy orange shade // Revlon Colourburst Lip Lacquer in 120 'Vivacious', a bold pink // Benefit Hoola Lip Gloss, a natural nude/brown colour // Bourjois Colourboost Lip Crayon in 'Peach on the Beach',  a pretty pinky peach shade // Too Faced Sweet Sun Shines Lip Gloss in 'Papaya Slushie', a sheer orange colour.

Brushes
Estee Lauder big Powder Brush //  Real Techniques Buffing Brush // RT Deluxe Crease brush // RT Setting Brush // RT Contour Brush // RT Base Shadow Brush // Estee Lauder Eye Brush

Thank you for reading I hope you enjoyed this blog post! What are you holiday makeup must-haves, tell me in the comments!

Colours of the Rainbow Tag!

Hey beauties! Today's blog post is going to be a tag that I saw on YouTube going around. They said they tagged everyone so I chose to do it as well. If you haven't heard of this then it's pretty simple; you have to pick your favourite beauty items that are the same colours as the rainbow. However I've kind of changed it up a bit because I'm not really doing my favourite products. I just picked different products that weren't very similar to each other. So the colours I have done are red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise (blue), indigo (dark blue), violet (purple) and pink!

Red
For red I have chosen the Bourjois 3D Effect lip gloss. This lip gloss is so pigmented and not sticky at all. It's very glossy which is nice and it has a very nice smell. Sometimes lip glosses can smell slightly chemically however this one has a pleasant smell which I genuinely have no idea how to describe.

Orange
I'm not surprised that I chose this but it is the Maybelline Baby Lips in Cherry Me. I know, I know it's not actually orange but the packaging is which is what I've mainly chosen all of these products on. I absolutely love this lip product. It's basically a tinted lip balm but it is actually quite pigmented depending on how much you use. It adds a nice cherry colour to your lips and the smell is absolutely delicious! For £2.99 I definitely recommend these if you haven't tried them already.

Yellow
I think this was actually the only yellow product I have but its the Maybelline Colossum Mascara. Unfortunately this is practically run out so I don't use it that often but if you would like to see a full review of it click here.

Green
Like the mascara above this was the only green thing I had. It is a Vaseline in the Aloe Vera flavour. I've had this for a long time and it still hasn't run out but this is really nice to moisturise my lips.

Turquoise (blue)
I couldn't decide which product to choose but I've chosen the Porefessional by Benefit. This is so good and really helps to remove pores. It smoothens out my sking and softens it as well. I have a mini size which is perfect for travelling but the full size is much bigger.

Indigo (dark blue)
I have chosen a really basic product I know, sorry about that. I think that Nivea lip balms are essential and this is just the Original one. If your lips are getting dry then these are a life saver!

Violet (purple)
Another lip balm sorry! This is The Body Shop lip balm in Passionberry. I absolutely love the Body Shop's lip balms and Passionberry is by far my favourite. It doesn't come out purple so don't worry but it has a very very very faint tint which would probably show up if you put loads on. The smell of this though is just incredible! If I tried to describe it, I would probably end up describing it terribly wrong so I will leave you to find out when you smell it in the shop (you really should smell it.)

Pink
Now this was a tough one as I have a lot of products with pink on them. But I've decided to go with my Revlon Lip Butter in Sweet Tart as they are just so pretty and such amazing products! I have done a full review on these which you can see here. Revlon Lip Butters are such amazing products, they are so moisturising and are very pigmented at the same time. Definitely recommend these!

So that was my Colours Of the Rainbow Tag! I tag all of you to do this and if you have any requests for blog posts then please comment them down below! I hope you have enjoyed this and if you like my blog please follow it! Thanks for reading, bye!
