Collective Beauty Haul

collective beauty haul

collective beauty haul

I feel like this haul is very long overdue as some of these products were new in June and since it's August now they're not very new anymore. But I have bought some new things recently so I thought I might as well merge them all into one collective haul post!

It was my birthday in June, I should've actually just put these products into a Birthday Haul however it's a bit late for that now. Anyway, my friend very kindly got me some products from The Body Shop. I received the Perfect Duo Set which contains the Instablur Primer and the All in One BB Cream. I have done a full review on them here if you would like to read! She also very kindly got me one of the Tea Tree Range Sets which includes the Tea Tree Primer and the Tea Tree Oil which is really good! To go along with these she got me a brush from The Body Shop which is retractable so it's even more cool!

When I went to China a few weeks ago, I couldn't resist not picking anything up from the Duty Free and taking advantage of the cheaper prices on MAC lipsticks (£12.50). So I did end up buying one! I picked up the shade Blankety which is a nude shade. I originally wanted either Modesty or Brave, however I couldn't find the shade Modesty (*sad face*) and Brave was a lot darker as I was looking for a nude lipstick. So after many swatches on my hand and me being indecisive as usual, I decided to get the shade Blankety which is very nice however it's not one you can easily layer on as it does look a bit too pale and too much nude lipstick!

Recently I bought myself a new mascara as some of my mascaras have been going dry and running out. So I picked up the Lash Sensational Mascara by Maybelline as I have heard so many good reviews  about it, it has been compared to Roller Lash by Benefit. It is honestly such a great mascara and it does amazing things to my eye lashes. I will definitely be doing a review on this in the future. Currently in Boots this mascara is £2 so it is £5.99 (may or may not be the reason I bought it!)

I also recently bought a Stila Bronzer which was in TK MAXX unused and still in the packaging for £3.99 and I really liked the look of it so I thought 'hmm why not!' It is in the shade '01' which I presume is the lightest shade so that suits me just fine. In fact the colour is very nice and isn't too orange or too strong. It is also a matte Bronzer which I really like as I think that is a bit more natural!

So that is all the new makeup that I have got recently, I hope you enjoyed this post and thank you for reading!

Top 5 Nude Lipsticks

top 5 nude lipsticks

top 5 nude lipsticks

top 5 nude lipsticks

top 5 nude lipsticks

I haven 't done a Top 5 post in a while, so I thought it was about time I do one. Today's Top 5 are all about Nude Lipsticks. If I had to pick bold or nude lipstick, I would definitely choose the nude lip option. I think they are so easy to wear and can suit anyone. For this post I have chosen a mix of high-end and drugstore, and there is a cheeky lip gloss even though this post is about lipsticks. Also these are in no order!

Barry M Lip Gloss in 2 'Toffee' - £4.49
I am a huge fan of the Barry M lipglosses, they are amazing quality especially for the price. They all have matching scents to the name of the lipgloss, so the one I have, Toffee, smells like Toffee, which is obviously a bonus! The colour is also very nice, a natural brown which is so quick and easy to apply and would probably suit any skin tone.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in 08 - £5.49
This is probably my favourite drugstore lipstick, it is the perfect 'my lips but better' shade. It is probably the darkest nude out of all of these, but my lips are naturally a little bit dark so it suits my lips quite nicely. But I have a post all about the Kate Moss lipsticks here. Unlike the rest of the lipsticks I have chosen, this lipstick is very creamy, pigmented and has a satin finish (not glossy but not matte, in the middle I guess!)

L'Oreal Colour Riche in 'J Lo's Nude' - £6.99
This lipstick is also the same as Cheryl's Nude but for some reason they have stopped selling those ones in my local Boots. I like the formula of this product as it is moisturising and quite sheer which makes it more natural. The only problem with this is that the actual lipstick moves when you apply it, so it rubs against the plastic packaging and leaves scratch lines on the back of the lisptick which you can see in the last photo. But other than that, the colour is very nice and perfect for everyday wear.

Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 105 'Demure' - £7.99
I have talked about these Revlon Crayons so much on my blog because I am obsessed with them, especially this shade. It is definitely more of a pink nude, whereas the other lipsticks I have mentioned are more brown toned. As it is a pale shade, it is quite sheer to apply and like all the other Revlon Lacquer Balms, it is moisturising and has a glossy finish.

MAC Patisserie, Lustre Finish - £15.50
This is definitely the most expensive out of all of the lipsticks in this post, but I guess that's MAC for you. I would describe this as a pinky brown nude. It is actually a bit of a mix between the L'Oreal and Revlon lip products in the sense that the Revlon is pink and the L'Oreal lipstick is brown. And the finishes of those products are quite similar to the MAC Lustre finish, sheer and moisturising.

So those are all my Top 5 Nude lipsticks, what are your favourite nude lipsticks?

March Favourites

As it is the end of March (already?) it is time for my March Favourites! I didn't do a Favourites for last month, so a few of these things are also favourites from last month as well.

Beauty

A couple of weeks ago I picked up a new Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in the lightest shade, I used to have Shade 2 but I realised that it was a bit too dark for me. So now that I have it in the correct shade for me, I've been using it a lot more. You have probably heard lots about this concealer, but it is very affordable and is very high coverage.

In my Top Pink Products for Spring post, I mentioned the Topshop Cream Blush in Flush. As this blush is so appropiate for spring, I have been using it a lot recently seeing as it is now officially spring. I have a post all about it here.

A new favourite of mine is the L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeliner in 120 Immaculate Snow. This white eyeliner is perfect to put on your water line to brighten up the eyes. It is so creamy and pigmented which makes it so easy to apply.

I have re-fallen in love with the Real Techniques Stippling Brush. I used to use it a lot for blush, but throughout this month I have used it for applying foundation or concealer. It blends it in so smoothly and evenly and doesn't apply the foundation too heavilly. It leaves the skin feeling like skin which I really like as sometimes different brushes can make the foundation feel heavy on the skin, but this brush doesn't do that.

I think I've saved the best till last. It is my MAC Lipstick in Patisserie. I have had this lipstick since last summer and although I don't wear it very often, this month I have used it a bit more than usual because it is such a pretty shade! It is a lustre finish so it does apply a bit more sheer but it leaves a nice glossy finish. Patisserie is the perfect everyday nude, it is basically a pinky brown shade but looks so natural!

Non-Beauty

I am going to see Insurgent in the cinema in a few days, so I wanted to read the book before I watched the film. So you may have guessed that the Insurgent Book is my favourite for this month, although I haven't actually finished it yet, it is very good so far!

Top Pink Products for Spring

One of my favourite colours to wear in Spring is Pink. It just seems like such a spring appropriate colour, corals and brighter neon colours are more summer. But neutral and pastels are always in for spring! I have put together my favourite pink products that are perfect for this spring.

Blush and Eyes

My favourite brand for when it comes to blushes is definitely Sleek. The products are amazing quality and really pigmented. I have the Sleek Blush in Pixie Pink. It's a gorgeous bright pink that is just the right pigmentations, by this I mean it isn't too bright but not too subtle. Just right!

The other blush in the photo is from Topshop and its a cream blush in the shade Flush. It's a cream to powder formula so it blends nicely and gives your cheeks a nice pink flush, hence the name :D

I have a little eyeshadow that is so pretty, the swatch of it doesn't show how stunning it is in real life! It's from No7 in Antique Rose and is a lovely gold and pink eyeshadow. It is nice and shimmery but also very natural at the same time!

Lips

If you've been reading my blog for a while, you may know that I do love my pink lispticks. I find them so easy to wear and they can suit anyone with any skin tones! For this post I decided to pick out my most pink lipsticks that would be perfect for spring. Most of my favourite lip products are from Revlon, so I have included the Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive. This is a gorgeous medium toned pink, its so natural and is also really creamy and not at all drying.

I also love the Revlon Lip Butters and I chose the shade Strawberry Shortcake. The lip butters from Revlon are so hydrating and feel like lip balms, this shade is a light nude pink and is such a nice spring shade.

I think MAC lipsticks are such amazing quality so I couldn't not include it in this post, its the MAC lipstick in Chatterbox. Again, its a very pretty everyday pink. Finally, to change things up a bit I have included a lip gloss.

It is the Tanya Burr lipgloss in Aurora. I absolutely love this lip gloss, especially the name. Its actually very good quality and I have a whole post dedicated to it here.

Brushes

I know, I know, I only chose these brushes because of their pink packaging. But it was too pretty to ignore and just fitted nicely with the post! So from top to bottom in the picture (they are all from Real Techniques by the way, I'll just tell you the name of the brush.) Multitasking Brush which I use for powder and sometimes blending in foundation, Setting Brush which I use to blend my under eye concealer and the Stippling Brush which I love to use for foundation.

So those are my top pink products for spring. I hope you enjoyed this post and tell me your Top Spring Products in the comments below! Thank you for reading.

Christmas Party Makeup Look | Beauty

I cannot believe how fast Christmas is approaching! I'm sure a Iot of you will be going to Christmas parties, so I thought I would do a makeup look for what I would wear if I were going to one! Let's get started!

Starting with the base, I used the Benefit 'That Gal' primer on mainly my cheeks and nose to give my skin a nice glow. I then used a small amount of Maybelline's Dream Pure BB Cream on my skin, this is quite light coverage so it looks and feels really natural on the skin. I just blended this in with a Real Techniques Buffing brush. On any blemishes, I covered them up with the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer and I also put a little bit under the eyes.

Onto cheeks, I used a the blush out of the Sleek Face Form Contour Kit as it has a slight gold shimmer which I thought would be nice for a Christmas party! I think shimmer is always nice so the Benefit's Watts Up highlighter really came in handy. I just applied that to the tops of my cheekbones and down my nose.

I used the MUA Undressed eyeshadow palette on my eyes. I took the golden shade all across my lid  and the darker olive toned gold in the outer corners. I then blended it all together to create a really simple smokey eye. For mascara, I just used the Maybelline One by One mascara.

To finish off the look, I applied MAC's Patisserie on my lips. This lipstick is absolutely gorgeous! Its a stunning natural nude that really suits my skin tone and goes lovely with a smokey eye!

I hope you enjoyed this makeup look I created and have fun at your Christmas parties! Thanks for reading, bye!

Festive Makeup Favourites

Some products I will look at this and instantly think Christmas, but some are a subtle hint of festivity. This post is a mix of both, some will scream Christmas and others not as much. I have put together a few of my favourite Christmas products, here they are!

Bourjois 3D Effect Lip Gloss in 06 Rouge Democratic
This is clearly a very festive lip colour. It's a bold red with a little but of shimmer. When it's is applied it isn't as bold but more of a wash or red, but it's definitely buildable. I love this at Christmas as red is just such a festive colour!

No7 Highlighter
I don't know why but I always associate sparkle and shimmer with Christmas, which is why I have chosen this gorgeous highlighter from No7. It's a very glittery highlighter and not for a subtle glow kind of person. This product would be gorgeous for a Christmas party!

M.A.C Lipstick in Speak Louder
Typically, Christmas would be a bold red lip kind of situation, but I think a deep pink would also be a nice different alternative. I have the shade Speak Louder which is a gorgeous bold pink but is still very wearable without being to bright. I will definitely be wearing this to Christmas Parties coming up!

Barry M Glamour Puss Palette
Once again, more shimmer! These colours a very different to what I would usually wear, there are some olive tones and also a purple shade! But the main reason I picked this was for the shimmery colours, I think they could make a gorgeous smokey eye! You wouldn't normally think of Christmas when you see this but I think it could work nicely!

Revlon Laquer Balm in Demure
The last product I have chosen is a pinky nude lip crayon with a subtle hint of glitter. Aside from reds and bold lips, I think it's nice to have a nude option! I really like this lip crayon as i would describe it as having a lustre finish (like the MAC lipsticks haha!) Which means it looks really natural and pretty.

So that is all my Christmassy products I have chosen! I hope you enjoyed this blog post and thanks for reading!
