Soap and Glory Brow Archery

Recently I picked up a new eyebrow product from Boots and it is the Soap and Glory Archery. I got it in the shade Brownie Points because that was the only brown shade, which I was a little disappointed about as there was only 2 shades. But my first impression definitely has to be the packaging - it is slim and practical and the box was also really nice with the whole colour co-ordination going on.

On one side of the product is a 'precision shaping pencil' but it is basically a very fine felt tip. On the other side is the 'brow tint' which is a crayon-like product which twists up. I do have to say though, the amount of product in the crayon/wax side is a little bit disappointing as I feel like I might go through this very quickly. When I was buying this I was expecting to prefer the felt tip, but after using it for a while I definitely prefer the crayon side.

The crayon is very easy to apply and is very natural, which is something that I was looking for. Although if you tested it on your hand it does come out quite faint, when you apply it onto your brows, it does actually come out pigmented, but not too strong to make it obvious you have filled your brows in. The wax on the other hand, is a lot more pigmented so I have to be a bit more careful when I use this side. However as it has a very thin nib, this comes in handy when you just want to define very carefully. The colour of the product is a little bit too brown and red-toned for me, I would prefer a more ash-toned brown as that would suit my eyebrows more.

But overall I am really happy with the purchase of this product, and I would recommend it to you if you are looking for a brow product, it is so easy to use and I really like using it do define my brows. I think next time I will just buy the original Brow Archery which, I think, only contains the crayon and not the felt-tip as it is cheaper and I don't really use the felt tip too often.

Favourite Four Mascaras

Normally, I would do a 'Top 5 ...' post, however I couldn't find 5 mascaras that really were my favourites - only 4! So it's going to be a 'Favourite 4' post instead. Anyway, like all my other 'Top 5 (or 4)' posts, these are not in any order!

L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes // full review Here
This has been featured on my blog many times, purely because I think it is such an amazing mascara. Firstly, let me just comment on how gorgeous the packaging is, the gold and purple really compliments each other! It has a plastic applicator, which is actually quite small and thin. I think this is why the mascara is not clumpy whatsoever. It lengthens my lashes so much, this is such a good mascara especially if you are looking for a good drugstore mascara.

Benefit They're Real Mascara
This is my all-time favourite mascara, unfortunately it is a bit more expensive than the others in this post. But, with most Benefit products I think, you do get what you pay for as this mascara is incredible. It instantly defines my lashes and makes them voluminous. Like the L'Oreal mascara, it is a plastic applicator. This makes sure it really grips to my lashes and lengthens them. If you add layers and layers it could become a bit clumpy, but for me one coat is just fine! It lasts for such a long time as well, doedn't smudge which other mascaras I have used tend to do.

Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
I went through a phase a few months back, when I really loved this mascara and used it so much. The mascara is really in the name, it works so quickly and instantly volumises my eyelashes. This is a bristle/fibre applicator, and he applicator is quite large so I tend to get mascara on my eyelids easily. But the actual product is really amazing. Great for when you are in a rush and you need something that doesn't require a lot of time.

Maybelline One By One Mascara
I have been through a fair few of Maybelline mascaras, and this has to be my favourite out of the ones I have tried. It is actually my second tube, that is how much I love it! It is the most lenghtening and defining mascara I have ever tried. Although it is quite easily for my lashes to become clumpy when I use this, so I do have to be a bit careful. But this is such an incredible mascara, my lashes become so long when I use this!

So those are all my favourite mascaras, hope you enjoyed this post! Thanks for reading!

What are your favourite mascaras?

The 1 Minute Makeup Products

Ever been in a rush and you have 1 minute to do your makeup? Well, you don't need to worry anymore as I have picked out some time saving makeup products that will take 1 minute to apply! From eye makeup, to lips and even blush and highlight, these products are super quick and easy to use.

For cheeks, I have chosen the Benefit Fine One One cream blush because it is so fast and easy to use (as are most of these products.) But this product is different from any ordinary blush because you only need to swipe the trio shades across your cheeks, blend and done! As you can see there are 3 colour of blush shades (including a shimmery highlight) which blend perfectly together. I also just want to add how gorgeous the packaging is, its a really pretty rose gold shade! If you don't want to use a blush, then a highlight is a great way to instantly brighten your face. Again, a Benefit product(their cheek products are amazing!) I have chosen the Benefit High Beam. As it is a liquid highlighter, all you have to do is dot a few blobs on the tops of your cheekbones and blend. Super quick and takes literally about 15 seconds!

If you are in rush, you'd probably skip the eye shadow, but these cream eyeshadows take no hard work and effort whatsoever. The Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze will probably take a bit more time to blend as it is quite a dark colour. But if you want to create a nice bronze eye shadow look, then this is great for that! The creamy consistency is very easy to use and it blends like a dream. I also wanted to include the Collection Work the Colour Eye Crayon in Vintage Blush because it literally takes me about 5 seconds to apply, seriously! Its a gorgeous shimmery pink shade so it is very natural and easy to blend as well!

The Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara was made for this blog post haha, the name is very fitting! But I think the actual mascara does live up to the name, it works very fast and is a very volumising mascara. The brush is very thick which allows it to work quicker and leaves my lashes looking full and volumised. I really do like this mascara, it's definitely one of my favourites!

Finally for lips, I think Lip Crayons are great for when you are in a rush. The lip crayons I have included in the picture are the Collection Work the Colour Lip Crayon in Vintage Rose and the Revlon Matte Balm in Elusive. Both are very pretty pink and natural shades and take a few seconds to apply.

So that is all my 1 minute makeup products for when you are in a rush. I hope you enjoyed this blog post and thank you for reading!

Best Beauty Products of 2014

I did this post last year about my favourite products of 2013, so I thought I should do it every year so here are my favourite makeup products of 2014! This post is a collaboration with Leah from Pretty Perfect (www.prettyperfectxoxo.blogspot.com), her blog is lovely and so is her Instagram so go and check her out! We both did our best beauty products of 2014 so you can read hers as well.

Let's start with the face makeup, the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream has been one of my favourites for sure. It is so natural and feels very light on my skin, it also evens out my skin tone as well as moisturising it. I've used it so much in the past year! I've always loved Sleek for their blushes and bronzers, so the Sleek Face Form contour and blush palette is definitely in my 2014 favourites! I use the bronzer so much as it is such a perfect contouring shade. This palette is so pretty as well, the blush is a stunning pink with gold shimmers which makes it even more gorgeous.

The MUA Undressed palette has been my favourite for 2014, the colours are just perfect for everyday, there's a mix of mattes and shimmers and I have used it so much! I have done a full review here if you would like to check it out! This eyeshadow palette is a great dupe of the Naked 1 palette by Urban Decay, but for a much cheaper price of £4! I noticed myself loving the Soap and Glory Thick and Fast mascara more and more every time I used it, which is why I have put it in this post! It is so volumnising and deserves to be raved about more! Another favourite mascara of mine is the Maybelline One by One, the most lengthening mascara I've ever used, it's just amazing.

I couldn't not include the Revlon Colourburst Lacquer Balm in 'Demure', I have mentioned this on my blog so many times because I am obsessed with it, still am! The colour is gorgeous and it is such a pretty pinky nude lip colour. Another lip crayon I have loved is the Bourjois Colourboost Crayon in Peach on the Beach. This was forever on my lips all throughout summer, so I think it deserved to be in this blog post. The last lip product that has been a love of mine in the past year is the Rimmel Kate Moss lipstick in 08, it's a stunning browny pink shade. It's a very similar colour to that Kylie Jenner Lip trend going around, such a gorgeous nude!

Onto brushes! I have only used Real Techniques Brushes, so out of the ones I have tried I love the. Buffing Brush and the Deluxe Crease Brush. The buffing brush is perfect for foundation and blending concealer. And the deluxe crease brush can be used for either concealer or eyeshadow!

I cannot believe 2014 is over, this year went so fast! But I hope you enjoyed this blog post and have a great new year! What were your favourites of 2014?

Soap and Glory Stash

For a very long time I have loved the brand Soap and Glory (I'm sure you've all heard of it) and I thought it was time I did a post on it. I'm not entirely sure how to explain this post but its basically a mini review on the products I have, so my Soap and Glory Stash. From bath and body to makeup to alarm clocks!

Bath and Body
The Sugar Crush Body Wash is probably the product I am most excited to try. Zingy and citrusy scents are my ultimate favourite so this shower gel ticks all the boxes for me! At the moment I am using the Smoothie Star Deep Moisture Body Milk which has a almond/nutty scent but feels so moisturising and buttery! Definitely recommend that one as I can really notice a difference in my skin. I also have some minis which I am going to be using when I go travelling, I have the Clean On Me shower gel and the Scrub 'Em and Leave 'Em Body Buff.

Makeup
I've always loved Soap and Glory Makeup, even though I've only tried two products, but their makeup range is so pretty and looks amazing! I absolutely love the Thick and Fast Mascara and I'm thinking of doing a review on it soon because it is so amazing! Something I mentioned in my Disappointing Products post is the Sexy Mother Pucker lip gloss, I'm not too happy with this product  because unfortunately it just didn't reach my expectations.

Non-Beauty
The first non-beauty thing I have is a makeup bag, well I guess this is slightly beauty related so I kind of cheated here. But its quite big and spacious and my auntie actually got this for me so I am really grateful for that. She also got me a S&G shower cap but I couldn't really take a photo of a shower cap ahah! Anyway the makeup bag is a black and pink dogtooth print and inside it is black and white. I also have an alarm clock which came in a set that my friend got me!

As you can see I love Soap and Glory and my favourite range is the Sugar Crush range as the scent is incredible! I have tried many other Soap and Glory products but they have obviously ran out so I couldn't include them. I think Soap and Glory would make great gifts at Christmas if you are stuck for present ideas! Thank you for reading this post I hope you enjoyed!

Disappointing Products #1

This is my very first Disappointing products post, and although I feel bad writing negative things about a product, I mean it in an advisable and constructive way. Perhaps you were thinking of buying a product in this post, but now you will be aware that maybe this product doesn't work for me. What I'm trying to say is I'm not just being irrelevantly negative about a product haha! Just putting the disclaimer out there, anyway let's get on with the post!

Soap and Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Gloss in 'Candy Floss'
This lip gloss is not just any old ordinary lip gloss. Oh no, to my surprise when I first applied it, I felt a tingling sensation in my lips; kind of like pins and needles but in my lips. This is what is supposed to happen as that is the feeling it gives when the lip gloss is plumping up your lips. I'm not going to lie I was expecting Kylie Jenner lips explosions, I mean a real noticable difference, but that difference just wasn't there for me. The colour is nice, but it has a sticky and thick consistency and the tingling thing just didn't float my boat.

Sleek Matte Me Lip Cream in 'Petal'
I've mentioned this in my Matte Lips post which you can view here if you are interested. I think the main thing that I am having troubles with about this product is the shade. The shade is a pale pink, which for a matte lip cream I don't think it is ever going to work. When I applied it, I could feel my lips feeling very dry and becoming flaky. Also, as the colour is quite pale, it applied unevenly and a little bit patchy. I think in other bolder and darker shades, these matte me lip creams could be very nice. But they just didn't work for me.

Seventeen Hide and Conceal Concealer
This is quite an old product of mine. I don't really use it anymore purely because I don't think it's very good. It's one of those twisting concealers, where the product comes out at the top through the brush. I don't mind that abiut this concealer, it's the formula I dislike. When I applied it, it was runny and didn't even conceal much. Very low coverage and once blended left quite a patchy consistency on my skin. Overall I wouldn't repurchase it and I wouldn't recommend it either.

Barry M Lip Paint in 52
If you know me, you'll know I love a bit of Barry M. This was one of the first lipsticks I ever bought and oh I how regret it now. I can't believe I thought I neon pink lipstick would look cool on a 12 year old girl. Hahah but seriously, it's not even the shade that puts me off, well actually the fluorescent fushcia isn't really a good look, but it's the matte finish. I find this lipstick to be quite drying and it sticks to my dry patches my lips. I actually really like the Barry M lipsticks as they're not all like this, most of them are actually very moisturising.

Benefit It's Potent Eye Cream
There are some products in Benefit which are a hit, and some which are a miss. For me the It's Potent Eye Cream just does nothing to me and is not worth however much it retails for. Luckily I didn't buy the full size as I got a mini-size in a gift set. It's supposed to brighten up your eye area, but whenever I use it that doesn't happen. If I do use it, it will most probably be as a moisturiser. This eye cream just isn't worth it.

So they are all the products that disappointed me. Thank you for reading this blog post! I hope you enjoyed it and have a nice day, bye!

September Favourites

I think September has been a transitional month from summer into autumn. I've been wearing much more autumnal makeup and dressing for fall. I think autumn and winter are my favourite seasons because it gets me so excited for Christmas, but I might just be saying that as I'm a bit bored of summer! But once again it's the end of the month which means it's a monthly favourites post!

Makeup
I have noticed myself reaching for Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara a lot more often this month and I don't exactly know why! I think it's because, hence the name, it applies so quickly and easily that I can just put in on in the morning when I'm rushing to go to school. This mascara gives a lot of volumes which I like. It's nothing dramatically special but I have been using it a lot this month.

As it's now officially autumn, it gives me a reason to wear more berry lip colours which I love. You may be thinking, "but Amanda, that's a green lipstick?!" Yes, it is! But don't worry! Once applied to your lips it comes out a pinky berry colour. I will do a post on this lipstick soon to show you how it comes out on the lips as it doesn't come out the colour it does when you swatch it on your hands. But I absolutely love the colour and this lipstick lasts forever! It literally doesn't even come off with water, it's like a stain which could be a good thing or a bad!

Skin
This month I have been loving the Vaseline Cocoa Butter as it is so moisturising and my skin has been feeling extremely smooth recently. I really recommend trying it out if you have quite dry skin as it instantly will make your skin hydrated and soft!

For shower gel, I have been using the Soap and Glory Rich and Foamous and oh my it is amazing! I've always loved Soap and Glory skincare but this smells so good! It smells like almonds and shea butter, which is very nice. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated as well. Normally with shower creams the smell doesn't last very long but with this it lasts a very long time.

Hair
I've had the V05 hairspray for a while but its only recently that I've been really liking it. It holds my hair all day, even when I have to go to school it still keeps my hair in place. I haven't actually used any other hairspray so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I recommend trying it out if you are looking for a good hairspray!

Autumn Makeup FOTD - Dark Berry Lip

What I'm Wearing:

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer
Rimmel Professional Brow Pencil
Barry M Natural Glow Palette
Barry M Glmaour Puss Palette
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner
Benefit Bad Gal Eyeliner
Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara
Nina Ricci Lipstick Satin 14 (I'm not sure what it's called?)

Grey high neck top - Topshop
Red Plaid Shirt - Hollister

One of my favourite things about autumn is that the dark berry lip comes back into trend. I love wearing dark vampy colours as it just makes me so excited and it feels so autumnal. Today I decided to wear a Nina Ricci lipstick that is actually my mums but she doesn't use it anymore! I think it was limited edition so you probably won't be able to buy it anymore, sorry!

For my eyes I mixed the matte brown shade in the Barry M Natural Glow Palette wight the purple shade in the Barry M Glamour Puss Palette. I then added the cream shade from the Natural Glow palette all over my lid. Using the Maybelline Gel Eyeliner I lined my lash line and then I took the Benefit Bad Gal eyeliner in my tight line.

So that is my face of the day (FOTD) and I hope you enjoyed this autumnal makeup look! Thanks for reading!
