Everyday Summer Drugstore Makeup

This summer I have been going for quite a light base, a bronze eye and a nude lip for my every day makeup. I thought I should go through my summer makeup routine as I did my spring makeup a few months ago and I want to make it a seasonal thing. So even though summer may be over in 1 week (*cries*) this is what I have been wearing most makeup wearing days!

Base
I'll usually prime my skin to make sure my makeup lasts all day, one of my favourite primers is the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer, however I also love using the Body Shop Instablur Primer. I don't want to wear a thick and heavy layer of foundation, so  BB Cream has been the one for me recently. I love the Body Shop All In One BB Cream and I find it works best when I use a flat foundation bruas it allows me to get lots of coverage and an even layer. Under my eyes I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer, and I'll go ahead and set this all with the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

Cheeks
I always use the Sleek Face Form Palette it's my absolute favourite. It comes with a blush, contour and a highlight all in one palette which is so handy. I really like the blush shade, it's almost rose gold as it is pink with golden undertones. So pretty!

Eyes
My every day eyebrow product is the Rimmel Brow Pencil and I just simply fill in my eyebrows but very naturally. Recently I have been loving wearing bronze and golden shades on my eyes, so as an eyeshadow base I use the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze. This is a cream eyeshadow but also works as an eyeshadow base! For a bit more colour, I tend to go in with some eyeshadow, I have been using this MUA Heaven and Earth eyeshadow palette quite a lot as it has a lot of natural bronze shades, it is also very cheap and affordable! Finally for mascara, I used my new favourite which is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I cannot recommend this mascara enough, it's amazing!

Lips
I tend to go for a nude shade on my lips, as this makeup is a drugstore makeup look, I decided to go with the Revlon Lacquer Balm in Demure. This is such an old favourite of mine but I still love it! It gives a really natural pinky nude shade!

And that is everything! I hope you liked this post and thank you for reading!

Drugstore Base Products

There are so many amazing base products out there in the beauty world, but today's post is all about Drugstore Bases. I only own 3 base products, and those are the 3 I'm going to be talking about today! Foundation isn't something I wear everyday so I don't feel the need to buy too many of them, but recently I've been getting into wearing it a bit more often. Anyway enough of me waffling, I'll get onto the first product!

Bourjois Healthy Mix Serum // £10.99
This is the latest edition to my makeup collection, I bought it in my Drugstore Haul which was about a month ago. It is honestly such a lovely foundation. I am not too keen on thick and heavy foundations, so this is really perfect for me. It feels lightweight on the skin, yet provides a light layer of coverage, but the coverage is definitely buildable. The feeling of it on my skin is lovely because it is almost velvety and very soft, which sounds weird but I think that is the only way I can explain it.

Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream // £6.99
Unlike the other products in this post, this one is a BB Cream. It is quite a light weight product, which is what I would've expected as it is a BB cream; and the coverage is very light as well. So that means it is very nice and natural. Unfortunately it only comes in two shades light and medium, so it's difficult to find one that suits your skin tone. I have the light shade, but that is a bit too pink-toned for me as my skin is warm-toned. The product blends into my skin nicely, but it doesn't last very long so I would recommend using a primer before using this product. I would recommend this BB Cream if you are looking for something light and natural.

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation // £6.99
There seems to be a recurring theme throughout this post of lightweight products; probably because the base products I like are the ones that are light weight and natural looking. The Rimmel foundation I'd say is light to medium coverage. It feels a bit more thick on the skin, but once blended in properly it feels light and doesn't really feel like I am wearing much foundation. The shade matches me very well, I am the shade 100 Ivory. This was actually my first foundation, and I really think this foundation is suitable for people who are looking to start wearing foundation.

There are probably lots and lots of other amazing base products out there, but these are the 3 that I own and I hope my thoughts on them were helpful to you. Thank you for reading!

What is your favourite drugstore foundation?

Best of Rimmel

Rimmel is one of those brands that are affordable and have some amazing products in their range. For this post, I have picked out my favourites from Rimmel, it was hard to choose as they have some really good stuff!

Rimmel Match Perfection Foundation in 100 Ivory -£6.99 Full Review Here
Although this is the only foundation I've tried so I have nothing to compare it to, I do think that it is an amazing foundation especially for the price. The product states it has a : "Natural, flawless coverage with a fresh finish" and that it "lasts all day". I do agree that it leaves a natural and fresh finish, but it is quite medium coverage so I wouldn't say it has flawless coverage. But it is definitely buildable! It is so natural and is hardly noticeable! I really like this foundation and really recommend it as it is such a bargain!

Rimmel Wake me Up Concealer in 03 Classic Beige - £5.49
This concealer is a new product in my collection. It is a very nice consistency, creamy and blends easily. The concealer is very brightening as it has very small shimmer particles in it, but don't worry they're not that noticeable! I did notice that it isn't as high coverage as the lasting perfection concealer by Collection is, but it is more of a brightening concealer for under the eyes rather than coverage spots and blemishes.

Rimmel Kate Moss Lipsticks 101, 08, 107- £5.49 Full Review Here
I have the shades 10, 08 and 107. The red ones are the matte one and the black one is the original formula I think. The matte lipsticks aren't drying at all, they have apply really nicely and last for a very long time! The shade 107 is such an autumnal shade and looks gorgeous. 101 is a really pretty pale pink nude alternative. But my favourite out of all of them has to be 08, a stunning dark mauve nude colour. This is such a Kylie Jenner lip shade but a much cheaper alternative, also it is so creamy when you apply it and smells delicious too! These lipsticks are a must-have!

Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Black Brown -£2.99
This is the only eyebrow pencil I have, but it is still amazing for only £3! It also comes with a brush so its great for travelling as well. I have the shade Black Brown which is the darkest, but it is perfect for my eyebrows. It is really easy to use so it would be great for beginners.

Rimmel Soft Khol Kajal Eye Pencil in Sable Brown - £2.99
This has become a must-have in my everyday makeup routine, I lightly use this on my lower lash line. It is much softer than black which is what I really like. Also it is so creamy and lasts such a long time!

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Nude - £3.99
Like the other eyeliner, this is so creamy and lasts a very long time! I use this in my waterline to brighten my eyes. It looks really natural and can make such a difference, I really like rimmel eyeliners they are such a bargain!

So that's all of my favourite products from Rimmel! I hope you enjoyed this post, thank you for reading!

Drugstore Makeup Starter Kit

This post is in collaboration with That Girl in Wonderland (www.thatgirlinwonderlandx.blogpsot.com), her blog is lovely and so is her Instagram so you should all check her out! I've been wanting to do a drugstore makeup starter kit for while now, so I thought it was about time I did one. Also I've had a lot of people on Instagram asking me for some recommendations of drugstore makeup products, so I thought I would do this to help lots you! This post would be helpful if you are just starting out in makeup and you are looking for some good products in the drugstore.

Face

Let's start with bases, personally, I prefer to use BB cream as it is light and moisturising. The BB cream I love to use is the Maybelline Dream Pure BB Cream. This product feels really light on the skin, like I am wearing no makeup, but it also has some coverage but the coverage is quite light. I tend to think of BB creams as tinted moisturisers as they are very hydrating on my skin. I really recommend picking this up, my one is for oily skin but Maybelline do another edition which is the Dream Fresh BB cream. I think if you're just starting out in makeup a BB cream is better because you don't want to be putting a heavy foundation on as it might look quite cakey.

If you think you're skin does not need foundation but you want to cover up a few blemishes, then definitely try out the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I cannot talk about this enough! The formula of this is amazing, it has very high coverage which means if you have an evil red spot then this concealer will cover it up. Also, this only £4.19 which is amazing for the quality you get.

I think powder is essential especially if you have oily skin, like me. I have heard many good things about the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, but if I am honest, I haven't actually tried that. I use the Natural Collection Pressed Powder and this works fine for me. It helps to set my concealer or foundation and it also keeps me matte as well. This is only £1.99 which is really good for what you get.

For cheeks, I really recommend Sleek products. They're blushes are amazing and reasonably priced as well. The blush shade I have is called Pixie Pink and is a really pretty pink. They are really pigmented so you really don't need a lot. If you are looking for a contour product then Sleek do a great Contour Kit which I have already reviewed on my blog here. It comes with a contour, highlight and a blush all in one palette.

Eyes

There are many amazing eyeshadows out there. But my personal favourite is the MUA eyeshadow palette in Undressed. Apparently it is a dupe for the Naked 1 palette but the MUA one is £4! You may think that because it is cheap the quality is not good but you are wrong! You get 12 shades, a range of matte and shimmery ones and they are amazingly pigmented. The colours are very neutral as well and I really recommend these.

Next is eyeliners, if you are looking to do a winged eyeliner look, then I recommend starting with a felt tip liner as I think they are the easiest to work with. The one I like to use is the Collection Extreme 24 hour Felt Tip Liner (is it just me or do Collection products always have really long names?) The nib for this is really thin so you can get an accurate line. Rimmel do very good pencil eyeliners, I like the Rimmel Kohl Kajal in Nude to apply on my waterline. The Rimmel Soft Kajal Pencil in Sable Brown is nice as well, I prefer brown because it looks more softer than black.

Mascaras are very difficult to choose just one for. There are so many great and affordable mascaras in the drugstore. But I personally recommend the Maybelline mascaras, especially the Falsies Mascara. It is very nice and lengthening and also very volumnising at the same time. I also like the Maybelline Mega Plush Mascara. There are many other great mascaras, Rimmel do good ones as well.

Lips

I have a few favourite lipsticks in the drugstore but I really recommend the Revlon Lip Butters. The shades I have are Sorbet, Sweet Tart and Strawberry Shortcake (I also have Berry Smoothie which I forgot to take a picture of. I have done a review on these which you can view here. They are very nice and moisturising as well as pigmented. If you are looking for a lipgloss, definitely pick up some of the Barry M lip glosses, my personal favourite is Toffee which is a browny nude colour. But they do other colours too.

Brushes

I think brushes are not necessary, but it is helpful especially if you are going to be using a foundation. Without doubt I recommend the Real Techniques, I have done a whole blog post on these which you can view here. They are very affordable and I highly recommend the Core Collection which includes four face brushes. The quality of these brushes are amazing as well, they are super soft and the hairs do not fall off at all.

Thank you for reading this blog post and if you would liked this blog post then check out my blog! I hope you enjoyed and sorry it was quite long I just have so many makeup products to talk about haha! Hope you have a nice day, bye!
