Current Favourites

I didn't want this post to be an August favourites because some of these I have only recently started liking, but some of these have been my favourites since the beginning of July. But I haven't done a monthly favourites in a while so I thought I would merge them altogether and do a Current Favourites!

Beauty

I'm going to start off with a new mascara I bought recently which is the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. I picked up the waterproof version because funnily enough out of all my mascaras none of them are actually waterproof. I had quite high expectations for this mascara because of all the great reviews that it has had, and I was not disappointed! This mascara is incredible, in a matter of seconds my lashes are fully curled and super long and look amazing, and that is with only one coat! I think the brush is really good and so is the formula! However bit of a pain to remove but I think that's just what most waterproof mascaras are like.

My next beauty favourite is The Body Shop Instablur Primer. Again, like the mascara, I had quite high expectations due to the high reviews. This primer is really good if you have oily skin as it really matti firs the skin and keeps your makeup on and prevents it from sliding off. So as it has been summer (well currently it is pouring with rain and the sun is nowhere to be seen,) this primer has dealt with the heat very nicely I think. It has kept my face matte and made my makeup last a long time, which is what I hoped it would do so it has ticked all the boxes for me!

The next favourite is a skincare product, it's The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil. This stuff is incredible! You are supposed to apply it to any blemishes you have and it will help to make them disappear. And it definitely does. When my skin broke out for a bit, I just applied a tiny amount, you really don't need a lot, of the oil before I went to bed and the next morning the spot had reduced in size and redness. I would really recommend this if you struggle with finding a product that deals with blemishes as it really does the job!

Music

I've been listening to so much music lately, especially when I was on my school trip in China, so I have a fee favourites! (Also ignore the fact that in the picture I used my iPod which is about 5 years old so it looks very different to the music on apple nowadays!)

Taylor Swift - Speak Now (old but it's one of my favourites! Specifically these songs - Enchanted, Long Live, Sparks Fly, Dear John, Better Than Revenge, pretty much every song actually.)

Fashion

When it was very sunny and when I went to China, sunglasses were such a necessity! The ones I have been wearing are actually from Primark but they look really cool especially with the gold and the matte black frame.

The Classic Winter Jumper

A white jumper is a classic wardrobe piece in winter, they're warm, cosy and look nice too! I paired it with a shirt so the collar came through at the top. Grab your handbag and you're good to go! The jumper is from Primark and it has a loose and slouchy fit which makes it all that more comfortable. I'm sure you can find many similar jumpers from any shop!

Pink Plaid for Autumn - OOTD

It's that time of year where summer has disappeared and it is not acceptable to wear shorts or skirts without tights anymore as it's just too cold! But it's too hot to wear knit sweaters, scarves and coats. This is where transitional clothing pieces come in handy as they are appropriate for the not-yet-winter-but-not-quite-summer times.

I think the skater skirt adds quite a girly touch to the look and paired with the grey high neck top is an outfit I will be reaching for more often. High necks are going to be in this A/W so before they all sell out I would pick up one of these 'rib funnel' tops as they are called on the topshop website. I would've worn this outfit with my leather jacket, but it was far too much black and although black is nice sometimes, I didn't feel like wearing too much of it. So I chose this shirt from A&F and I think it goes quite nicely and adds a splash of colour as well as keeping me warm. Everything I am wearing in this outfit is listed below:

Favourite Highstreet Fashion Picks #teenblogseries

It's Monday! Which means another post for the #teenblogseries! Today's topic is our favourite fashion shop and picks! I decided to pick New Look because I think there are so many great fashion steals which you can get from there that aren't going to break the banks! London Haul - M.A.C, Topshop, Forever 21

Yesterday I took a touristy trip round London looking at the iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Big Ben and Trafalgar Square. I also was lucky to go to Oxford Street to go shopping and I picked up a few items.

 

Lets start with Selfridges, I've never been to one before so when I walked in I was shocked at how huge and classy it was. Knowing me I went straight to the M.A.C counter and began looking at the lipsticks. I picked out the shade Patisserie because I heard Lily and Anna raving about it and the colour was gorgeous. Perfect for everyday use. Patisserie is a Lustre finish which means it is quite sheer and has a glossy finish. The colour is really natural, a pink warm toned brown which really suits my skin tone.

 

Next is Forever 21, I have been looking for a Leather Jacket for ages, the ones in Topshop were far too expensive and the ones in Primark looked tacky. When I saw the rail of leather jackets for £15 in Forever 21 I was very happy and chuffed! It is a tad big but they didn't have any XS but I think I can work with it. I will get a lot of use out of this! You can find this jacket here.

 

Like Selfridges, I was shocked when I walked into Topshop. I was so used to my small local Topshop, the one in Oxford Street is massive! After looking around for 1 hour, I picked two simple tops. There were so many things I loved I couldn't pick any. I went for a 'Rip Funnel Top' which you can see here . I really like the high neck and material of this and it would be perfect for autumn. I also picked up a 'Long Sleeve Skinny Rib Crop Top' which you can view here . I find the long sleeves and the fitting of this top to be really flattering and its also great for autumn!

How to Wear : Gingham Skirt

 

One of the latest trends I've been loving has been Gingham patterns. When I saw this skirt in New Look I fell in love and picked it up in the sale for a bargain of £8! I decided to do a post with how I would style it.

I paired it with a white lacey top as I didn't want to wear another pattern that would clash with the bold gingham print. So a lace top is a safer and subtle choice. The bag adds some colour to the outfit and I think it finishes of the look. I just accessorised with a gold necklace that matches the gold detailing on the bag. Put on some bracelets and rings and the outfit is complete!

How To Wear : Holographic Sandals

Recently I bought these holographic caged sandals with a white chunky cleated sole from TK MAXX. Current Fashion Favourites: Monochrome Dresses, Chunky Boots and Sandals

Hey beauties! Today's blog post is a little bit random but I just thought that I'd share with you my current fashion favourites! Recently I have been obsessed with monochrome print dresses especially dogtooth patterns. I have a dogtooth pattern shift dress which I have been struggling to wear as I don't know what to pair it with. So I took a trip on Polyvore for some inspiration and now I have found some amazing shoe ideas to wear it with. I absolutely love chunky boots especially Vagabonds, and I think they would look super cute with the dresses. Vagabonds are a little too expensive for my budget, so I took a look on new look and topshop and found some great alternatives! I love the boots with cleated soles as they look so cute! Not only have I been loving chunky boots but also chunky sandals! I think New Look do some great chunky gladiator sandals and for a great price! I really want to go shoe shopping now ahh! But I might have to wait till my birthday which is in one month! I think the white sandals will look super cute in summer as well! I think dresses and cute chunky shoes are just so pretty and cute and I can't wait to get a pair haha! Hey beauties! This is my first ever fashion type of post and I'm quite nervous to post it. This is my outfit of the day, it's quite basic but I added a statement necklace to pull the look together. Also I think the mint green sunglasses gave it a bit more colour (and I was kind of squinting in most of the photos without them because the sun was so bright haha!) The weather was absolutely lovely today so I did not need to wear tights (which I normally would've done as it can be quite chilly.) As you can see a lot of what I'm wearing is from primark but I just think primark is so affordable and they have really upped their game accessories-wise. You may have noticed that I haven't captured my feet or shoes in the photos because I was actually wearing flip flops as I was just in the garden! So sorry that I have cropped my feet out in all of the photos.
