Top 5 Thursday - Autumn Nail Varnishes

I'm back again with a Top 5 Thursday post which is going to be a monthly thing. Last month I did my Top 5 perfumes and today I am going to tell you about my top 5 Autumn Nail Varnishes. When I think of autumn I think of burgundies, purple, reds and dark colours. I think my choice of nail varnishes really represents these autumnal vibes!

Bourjois So Lacquer in 24 'Rouge Escarpin'
If you're looking for a very sophisticated red then this is the one to go for. It applies very easily and smooth and you really only need one coat because it's so opaque. I think the quality of this nail varnish is great and it dries quickly to a gloss.

Essie Leading Lady
Glitters are perfect for the Christmas season and this gorgeous Essie nail varnish in the shade leading Lady is perfect for the festive season. It's a dark red plum colour with red glitters and I think this could look stunning on all the nails or as an accent nail. As usual for Essies, this nail varnish is great quality and needs about 2 coats but the results afterwards are lovely on the nails.

O.P.I Silver Shatter
This nail varnish is a top coat and has the crack/shatter effect similar to Barry am crocodile nails if you've ever tried that. It looks lovely on top of a bright red or simply white. I think the silver gives it a very winters feel which is why I think it's great for autumn. Only one coat is needed.

O.P.I Magazine Cover Mouse - Minnie Mouse Collection
I got this nail varnish in a set of 4 from the Minnie Mouse Collection, I feel like this nail varnish has the most festive feeling about it, I think its the gold sparkles in the red. This applies really nicely and only needs 1-2 coats. It is one of the O.P.I liquid sands so it has a sandy, gritty texture but looks great!

The last nail varnish doesn't have a name so I am unsure about the brand and shade; but it came in a set and I got it as a gift so I don't know where its from. But I think the colour is very autumnal, plums and berries are always on trend in autumn so if you can find a shade similar then please tell me!

There you have it, all my top 5 autumn nail varnishes, I don't have many autumnal shades as I have more of the bright spring and summer shades :( But thank you for reading and have a nice day, bye!

Autumn Lips #FallintoAutum Series

Today's post in myself and Fran's series #FallintoAutumn is our Autumn Lipstick!

I have chosen the Nina Ricci lipstick which I am unsure of what it is called as it doesn't say. But it was limited edition anyway so I don't think you can purchase it anymore :( But anyway, I think it is a perfect autumnal shade. I have also featured it in a FOTD post here if you are interested in seeing what it looks like on me.

This lipstick is quite a creamy, glossy consistency which does mean it can easily slip and slide during the day and doesn't last very long. However, I think the colour is gorgeous, it is a dark red/plum shade, perfect for autumn! You can probably get very similar shades to this from other brands but this is the most autumnal lipstick I have. As you can see from the swatches it is also very pigmented which is great.

So that is my perfect autumn lipstick! What is yours? Thank you for reading and have a nice day, bye!

Perfect Autumn Boots #FallintoAutumn

Autumn and winter is a time for cosy onesies, woolly knit gloves hats and scarves and oversized jumpers. But there is one thing missing in that list, of course it's Boots! I think it is necessary to have a pair of chunky boots that can go with any outfit and are perfect for A/W. This weeks post in mine and Fran's series, called Fall into Autumn, is our perfect autumn boots. Mine are from New Look and were on sale from £35 to £17! Bargain! I love the gold buckle detailing and the chunky sole. These shoes can go with anything, from skirts and tights to jeans to leggings! If you can get your hands on these I really recommend it! They are stunning and amazing quality!

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoyed this blog post!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo

I'm sure you have all heard of the Maybelline Colour Tattoos, I have the shade On and On Bronze and I think it is a great bronze cream eye shadow base. I've heard these are supposedly dupes for MAC's Pain Pots, but I don't own any of them to compare to.

For around £6, I think these cream eyeshadows are totally worth it. They have a very long lasting power, high pigmentation and the application is very easy. They apply very creamily but also blend out easily too. The shade range is also very good as there are more bold colours like purples and blues but also more neutral shades like On and On Bronze.

What I like about this is that you don't have to wear it as a base, you can wear it on its own and it looks lovely as well! I sometimes use it as a base for when I am going out etc so my eyeshadows last for a long time. The colour is also very neutral and nothing too intense, I blend it out so it isn't too bold.

So I really think these are worth picking up if you haven't already! Maybelline have some great autumn shades as well which I am tempted to get my hands on! Thanks for reading, bye!

September Favourites

I think September has been a transitional month from summer into autumn. I've been wearing much more autumnal makeup and dressing for fall. I think autumn and winter are my favourite seasons because it gets me so excited for Christmas, but I might just be saying that as I'm a bit bored of summer! But once again it's the end of the month which means it's a monthly favourites post!

Makeup
I have noticed myself reaching for Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara a lot more often this month and I don't exactly know why! I think it's because, hence the name, it applies so quickly and easily that I can just put in on in the morning when I'm rushing to go to school. This mascara gives a lot of volumes which I like. It's nothing dramatically special but I have been using it a lot this month.

As it's now officially autumn, it gives me a reason to wear more berry lip colours which I love. You may be thinking, "but Amanda, that's a green lipstick?!" Yes, it is! But don't worry! Once applied to your lips it comes out a pinky berry colour. I will do a post on this lipstick soon to show you how it comes out on the lips as it doesn't come out the colour it does when you swatch it on your hands. But I absolutely love the colour and this lipstick lasts forever! It literally doesn't even come off with water, it's like a stain which could be a good thing or a bad!

Skin
This month I have been loving the Vaseline Cocoa Butter as it is so moisturising and my skin has been feeling extremely smooth recently. I really recommend trying it out if you have quite dry skin as it instantly will make your skin hydrated and soft!

For shower gel, I have been using the Soap and Glory Rich and Foamous and oh my it is amazing! I've always loved Soap and Glory skincare but this smells so good! It smells like almonds and shea butter, which is very nice. It leaves my skin feeling very hydrated as well. Normally with shower creams the smell doesn't last very long but with this it lasts a very long time.

Hair
I've had the V05 hairspray for a while but its only recently that I've been really liking it. It holds my hair all day, even when I have to go to school it still keeps my hair in place. I haven't actually used any other hairspray so I don't have anything to compare it to. But I recommend trying it out if you are looking for a good hairspray!
